My old Logitech "something or other" keyboard decided it'd had quite enough drinks poured over it, about 20 keys suddenly stopped working. I checked inside, corrosion on the membrane tracks. So in the bin it went, to be replaced by this:

It's got lights on it and everything. Fuck knows what all the things do, the software looks like a Chinese Koran. To be honest I think that gaming keyboards all look pretty ugly, but I wanted something that will last. And the keys sound pretty nice, like a 1980s computer terminal nuclear war thriller.

Agreed, it's hard getting a keyboard that's not absolutely fug.

Yeah, I was tempted by the flashy lights but most of them do look awful. I went with the Das Keyboard 4 Professional in the end (with MX Brown switches). It looks (imho) classy as hell, it's a dream to type on and the integrated 2 port USB 3.0 hub is also very useful.

It's not got backlit keys but I don't miss that as much as I thought I would. I had the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard before which had the lights but was pants to type on, especially after stepping up to this beauty.

If i stuck a cassette tape drive on the side of that it could be a spectrum +2

To me, a keyboard with no markings on the keys screams hipster douchebag. :)
And yet you bought a keyboard from a company originally founded to create keyboards with blank keys? For them labelling keys is a fairly new thing :)

Well, if all they made was blank keyboards, I would've bought elsewhere. And, for a company that was founded in 2005, they introduced labelled keys in 2008, which could hardly be considered a "fairly new thing". :)

I had a CM stealth keyboard for a while with blank keys. Got rid of it because it was shit though.

Do you game at all? What are the blues like for that? I mostly do coding now but was scared to get anything other than reds seeing as I don't want to be waking up my daughters with some clacking monstrosity!

From what I remember of my research when I was looking for my keyboard, "soft clicky" MX Browns are what you need.

Ahh yes, apparently a good middle-ground for when I do do a bit of gaming. Thanks :)

Bought a Sony KDL42W705B today, it's lovely.

It does make me feel like a proper redneck though, it's way too big for my room.

Is it overpriced? Certainly.
Are the colours a gimmick? Pretty much though I can't deny it looks cool.
Is the management software a bit shit? Yup.
Did I like my K95 RGB so much I bought a K70 RBG for work? Yes!

I got mine with the MX Browns as various people have also recommended in this thread as they seem to be the best fit for both gaming & typing. Though if you're still unsure I'd recommend getting this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Max-Keyboar...d=1435086826&sr=1-3&keywords=Cherry+MX+Switch

It's a lot to pay for a trial kit but considering the amount of money people spend on mechanical keyboards these days it a good idea IMO to find the MX you prefer.

No idea pal. Feels ok to me, more sensitive than the last keyboard I had. I just like the clacky noise it makes as I type.

Picked up a Weber 57cm BBQ yesterday, had a scorcher of a day so roasted some vegetables and did some burgers. Wonderfully juicy, much better than the massive gas thing my mate has which is more of a "hey, look at the size of my grill!" penis extension.
