Enough about wanks.

I've been playing with Lightroom 6 lately which brings along the ability to stitch panoramas at the RAW level rather than RAW -> TIFF level. For those who aren't camera geeks, that means that you don't need to process each individual image then stitch in photoshop as TIFFs which can lead to also sorts of mismatching colours and vignetting - basically a total ballache. Now you can take several images of untouched sensor output, merge them altogether and process them as one single RAW file with one single TIFF output. The results are superb and seamless. This was 10000 pixels wide, so had to reduce it (obviously), good for a 6 foot wide print. This image was stitched from five images, then cropped for composure.

I'll be purchasing said nerdy software!

I pay the Adobe Cloud subscription for Photoshop and Lightroom, £8.60 of a month is pretty good value to always have the latest version, and the licence allows me to use it on 2 machines so I can have it on my desktop with the nice big screen, and the laptop for traveling. I had bought LR3 a while back but had never had a totally Levitt copy of PS, so it is quite nice to be completely legal.

I think that'd end up dearer for me, LR 6 is ~£100 and I'd use it for a couple of years at least so is cheaper to buy up front?

If you don't want or use PS then absolutely. And the more they add to LR the less I need to go into PS anyway :)

Ding Ding, I posted ages ago that he'd ordered it :p You guys are forgetful.

Disagree on it not being nerdy or awesome though, it has its own data sim so you can browse the interwebs from the screen in it.
Although it'd be way sicker if it also had a wifi network from that so it was a portable hotspot.

Outrageous. This isn't the "nerdy awesome shit my old man" bought, otherwise I'd put up pictures of blow up d..... anyway, get some vids up :).

There's only one thing that gets me about the exterior of the i8, and once you see it, you can't unsee it. It looks like it's giving birth to a Porsche 911 out the back:

I really didn't like the look of it when they first announced it and I am still not entirely sure about its back end but it really is growing on me.

tbh I love it. I would have never said that about anything, but it's a thing of beauty.

Obvious to point this out, but gross basic is no indicator of liquidity. Too many variables in people's lives (outgoings, where you live, current savings, inherited dead-parent cash etc.) to determine affordability.

It's a nice picture but also a demonstration of how not to shoot a panoramic shot, since the subject leads the eye out of the image. Hope I don't sound like a dick.

Yeah you do sound like a dick. It's demonstration of Lightroom 6's seamless RAW stitching of 5 plus images which used to be impossible, not an art masterclass.

I didn't read the post beforehand. That's mighty impressive if its multiple pictures!

As for a bad shot, I am not sure how else you would be able to take that picture, its not like you can move the mountains or road :)
