Question for the audio nerds, can anyone recommend some speakers that have wifi/bluetooth/nfc connectivity?

Budget is w/e, like 1-2k.

Just called my mate who set a lot of this stuff up in homes here. His current speakers of choice for installs are:
1. NAD Visio 1
2. Monitor Audio Airstream
3. Sony <spits at floor> SANS500
3. Sennheiser LSP 500 Pro for the seriously rich guys

Hey now @ECA what can you do with NFC? I thought it was just a payment thing. :\ I never played with it but I have it on my Note 3 and those tag things look nerdy *and* awesome.

You can share music/videos/files over NFC .
It doesn't require pairing/connection like bluetooth because the idea is that proximity alone is security enough when it's physically inside your home and the NFC range is about 10cm max - if you just plonk your phone on it.
( Also your phone must be unlocked, this is to prevent NFC scanners in subways/etc or NFC "bumping" into someone to scan them like a pickpocket would use to steal a wallet/phone ).

I already wrote a bit about what I'm using the tags for, but I'm regularly using 2, one by my bed where I charge the phone to control volume settings, bt. wifi, etc, when i go to sleep, and reverses all that + sends wake on lan to wake my pc up when I get out of bed ( which is awesome ).

I have one next to my router as well, that will automatically switch wifi on, and connect you to the wifi. ( obv I don't use it , but for visitors its cool ) - you could also use this in a coffee shop or something, as it won't save the wifi settings.

Similar for car, got one on my keys fob that switches BT on, wifi off, connects to car, starts a playlist, swipe it again on exit, turns off BT, stops music, wifi back on.

I got 10 tags+ a keyfob tag for £8 off amazon.

You do need an NFC app though, so if someone has NFC on their phone, they need to get an NFC app first ( I'm using trigger ).

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jwsoft.nfcactionlauncher

Some other egs - you could have one on your office desk, you swipe it in the morning when you get in and it turns off all ringer/notification volumes/wifi/bt and puts your phone on vibrate , and swipe it again when you leave to switch everything back on. If you have enough network access you could also use it to wake your pc up.

You can also write URIs to them, so any app that takes URI input can be activated with it.
You can get them to open chrome and go to a specific website/address, ( dickbutt, rickroll, goatse, etc ).
They also support samsung/htc specific stuff like driving mode/block mode/boom sound/ etc.

They are also incredibly easy to program, you just pick from a list of conditions and activities you want to happen on contact - and whether you want it to toggle on second swipe.

Typically the NFC Speakers work by pairing your device with the speakers bluetooth, and not for playback.

and I said unto ye: yea, let all pies be treated equally, and justly, for they are good, and wholesome, and conductive to obtaining greater girth!

I'm tempted to get one of these:

The Plastc Card

The only problem is a matter of security.
Sounds like you need to have your phone nearby as well as have bluetooth on.

Oh an also if it runs out of battery just when you need it!

Although soon you will be able to do all of that with just phone apps...

Meh. Tech for techs sake. Nothing wrong with a credit card that doesn't need charging.
