New monitor arrived.

Fuck me, it's good.

Big, heavy, built like a tank, so bright you could get a tan off it. Colour accuracy was pretty spot on out the box and the extra room on the screen makes photo editing so much easier. Thankfully the beta version of Chrome supports colour management now, so everything on Flickr looks normal and not silly saturated.

Aha, was just looking at that on Amazon and noticed the higher price and worse reviews on the newer model :p Might be better getting the older one!

It's excellent, better than my old Dell TN panel. Gaming is not my priority here though.

Rolex Daytona Stealth - only 15,500 GBP. Production is limited to 50. Told the wife it is the perfect accessory for my FJ Stealth, sadly she does not agree.

With my 30th this year I am going to ask for a watch, everyone with give what they can and i will pay the difference. I doubt I will get more than £500 so I am limited on how nice a watch. I have fallen in lust with this watch they are just over a Grand in the UK but I am hoping my uncle who works in Germany a lot will see one there which will save us a bit of money. Do any of you watch people have any experience of Nomos Glashuette? They do seem to review well and seem to be one of a few people who make their own windings.

Valves are sexy, decent valve amps always have a nice smooth sound with deep base

this Audio Research LS-7 pre is the shit Hawkwind. Got some Phillips JAN tubes on the amp stage atm, playing while they break in a little. Slightly too bright for me atm as my speakers have ribbon tweeters and can be very bright. The other tubes are Electro Harmonix gold's which were slightly more rounded off out of the box. Everyone tells me to let the JAN's run for a while before making any kind of definite statement.

On Friday the pre gets modded with some Mundorf silver/gold condensators. Fffuuuuu :D

I want to get a Sonos setup in my house. Does anybody else have one? I probably done need one, but it just strikes me as cool that I could play all my music everywhere!

I haven't worn a watch for more than 5 years. I never seem to be more than a few seconds away from some timepiece or another and I really don't care precisely what time it is most of the time.

Awsome setup. I used to have some decent shit pre marriage. Leak Valve Amp which I sold then built a set of feed forward Mono Block Amps based on the Quad open source design. They had a great sound and all components used were top quality, best I could afford in the early 90's. Matched that with a moded NAD Pre Amp. Still have my Kef 109's but sadly my set of Acoustic Research speakers were severly damaged during the move out to Dubai. Also have my Micro Seiki Turntable although these days it is wired into a Harmon Kardon Surround Amp with all the satellite shiz and xbox :(.

With the Valves you really have to let them warm up for an hour or two to really get the full experience. Some audiophiles would say more like 4-8 hours but that's overkill.

Would love to build some new gear, just don't have the time to do it and getting the parts here in Dubai would be a mare.
