timered abilities affect a fight more that actual "skill".

actual skill is what decides the fight, if the abilities stack well up and the classes match each other in the given fight quite equally.

Ofcause if i am in a fight where:

Haste just faded

Eternal Plant, Bracer of Zoarkart and Champion weapon are by some weird incident all down

The pot timer was just used

and all Banelord abilities are down


I am likely going to lose to someone with everything up...


What i meant is, i see lots of ppl not using given abilities or just performing them to well..

10% or less of the shield tanks seem to use engage, ever..
20-30% of the ppl you fight consistantly fuck up on reactionaries
several vamps just seem to go by the end drain and then spam the claw key
some ppl dont utilize their class potentiel in changing from 2h to s/s.
some ppl cant count and notiously attempts slamming you when you are still stun immune

etc etc

id prefer a spec AF nerf so i can oneshot more alb casters too :mad:

heh agree tbh none of the archer classes should have ip.. it just tempts them into speccing for melee :( "Waits for some random archer to say something like.. but how are we meant to compete with infs etc!..." geeeeeee lets see you roll an archer and want to meleeeeeeeeee cause you have ipeeeeeeeee

what tempts archers to spec melee is how tragic archery is
brittles, bladeturns, shields and interupts make it a frustrating experience outside of keep standoffs

assassins make much better consistant killers than archers
I can take mages of rr8+ easy on my RR3 shade
They would obliterate my RR6 ranger if he was bow specced 80% of the time

I get enough easy rp's thanks to mages on my assassin, I dont need IP'less archers added to the list to make kills

thats just not a valid arguement with the current archery system sorry. Anyone who knows anything about the class would agree with this, its a no brainer.

still laugh at people that think archers are OP compared to assasins really. you have to look at the wider picture. rangers have a small specialist market in being able to compete with assasins (mainly due to CD allowing you to consistently hit them, and purge and PD given you good survivability to the hordes of fixed blade weapon journeymen assasins that dont reapply poison or switch out weapons) thats it though really, visual melee classes have no excuse to loose to a ranger tbh, u have access to just as many toys (or in a lot of cases more toys or more OP toys. If your toys are down and the ranger throws his toys at you, then tough shit, would be a bit fooked up if u won then tbh)

also not that many peeps play rangers. I dont honestly know where the reputation of the OP ranger comes from. If it was OP it would be overplayed. most that try the class give up quickly with a firm but disgrunted "fuck that".

Pretty much agree with everything there...

8/10 times if you solo and try to shoot a solo unengaged caster he will quickcast a mezz, pet you, quickcast a nuke and outcast(shoot) you, from this poínt on bow is worthless.

"But how about sureshot?" With the caster dps and casting speed, not to mention baseline lt's on many of the alb casters they will still get spells in, and outdamage you by far. Not taking pets that interrupts you once they get in melee range, moc, zo'arkat minions ect. into account.

As mentioned earlier shields is also completely negating archery.

The current changes to resist tables and acces to champion weapons has decresed the number of legendary weapon wielders. Fighting a class that has acces to 26% resists + racials + CL weapon / GSV resists + CL resist buffs + PD with physical weapons then... well... you asked for it. I'm running malice/champ offhand and made my template according to this, although I always carry leggies to swap in when I face high PD users, scouts, hunters, tics, bd's ect. Sure it hurts my temp utility but if i don't swap it's sometimes like hacking a concrete wall with a toothpick.

Envenom is a whole topic for itself... learn to reapply and you've taken the first major step to beat any melee ranger :>

You could probably count the high RR melee rangers on the two hands of yours. I reckon people rolling rangers thinking they are OP from start off are in for one heck of a surprise :>

Most are normally duoed or trioed as most are normally failrly skillless to be honest.

how the fuck are they going to hit for more damage?

its lesser damage on growth rates, same ws and same dmg table. rangers have slightly better armor, pd, zephyr, resistance of the ancients and ip where assassins have extremely powerful poison, poisonspike, better evade and way better styles then ranger

you're talking a lot of shit, spend the time on improving your character and game knowledge maybe?

Scout, Hunter, Ranger have access to archery. Tho it is by your view that they should only be able to use their bow.

wrong, my rr2 ns hits harder than my rr8 ranger, both with 101str templates and both wearing malice as mainhand. ofc the ranger swings the offhand a bit more often, but not that much considering the diffs in cd spec
