Went to see it last night for the finale, looked a bit crap on the telly cos I was dissapointed it didn't actally walk on it's own legs.
In the 'flesh' though it was an amazing spectacle, totally Matrix style with the operators slung underneath.
The special effects, water cannons, foam sprayers and huge fireballs were impressive.
Typical french attitude to safety, various performers simply held on to the legs and were hoisted up onto rooftops as it went along.
Young kids crawled all over the machinery as those massive rams pushed in and out and people in the crowd touched the feet as the operator swung the legs over their heads, one slip or a sticky valve would have meant squashed scouser.
It just made my heart cry out for a real walking hydraulic robot with an man in the middle operating it from a bouncy seat...superb.
