Your aware that most of these videos are fake and the 'hacks' you download are actually useless programs to you but not the the person who made them as they contain keylogging software.
Guess most are just there to get keyloggers into "stupid" people's computers who think they can get an edge. But there are cheats out for other online games, so guess there is some for WAR aswell.

just take that hack, cheat, dupe guild in AoC :) Majority got banned, and they didnt for their life understand why. Forgot their name but was funny to read on their forums how they had paid "dollars" for their membership so they could get their hands on this crap, then get caught and banned.

Never understood the people who need to "cheat" in online games.

Guess i was blueeyed when i started up WAR, but after seeing some wierd crap i've started to report some of them, some can be explained by lag, some just dont fit the bill.

just did a google search on `warhammer hack`.

it`s sad.

i think stuff like this is a far bigger problem than gold / pl selling tbh.

Did a search as advised (particularly the youtube stuff, omg!) and oh christ, there's freaking loads of these things around, it looks like most of them were devised and TESTED during the beta process...which is crazy that Mythic never picked-up on this at the time.

This is gonna be a real test for Mythic, they never got to grips with cheats during DAoC, rather fumbled around a bit and banned a few players here and there. They need to get these cheat-sites closed down for a start but is the coding fundimentally flawed? Can they stop people hacking and cheating like this?

You can beat on a caster for 30+seconds and not kill him what happened to the "glass cannon" theory?

This caster was a zealot rank 21 while I was at the time a S+S specced rank 12 IB so not exactly a massive damage dealer and their heals tends to be a long fight if i gain no grudges and no chance to stun them ;)

im not sure, but doubt its illigale in anyway to make the hacks, they can only tell people its illigal to use them in thier game....

just spend 2 hours looking through various exploits for war, alot of it dont work and are just plain scams... eg give us your login and you can use our hax...

But there is also stuff that works

so far i found this and its all working....

Radar
Speedhack - also include flying and wallhack
Huntingbot
Dupes

so mythic get your fingers out and start working on counters.... alot of it writes direct to memory so simple scans will find it.

If they are smart, they'll own the rights to the code and so any abuse or misuse of the coding would be potentially prosecutable, but as with anything internet based, it's catching those responsible and proving it, both of which would be very difficult and costly, so the easiest solution im betting is to fix the holes that are being exploited.

well i see where your going, but most hacks just alter memory adresses rather than actual game files. sometimes they are injected into files, be that game or windows files....

a great idea could be to make a "anti-hack" seen from other games.... still pissing myself when thinking of the poor bloke that shot his whole team in AAO, while yelling to all Im a cheating **** xD..... a guy got tired of the hacks and made his own with a twist

I don't know much about hacks and how they work, I used to semi-understand the basics back in CS beta, but that was a long time ago :)

I've seen Bright Wizard end a scenario on 75k damage and who had not died once... that seemed supicious to me at the time.

I hunted for that fucker everywhere and could never find him.

Not sure what the purpose of the damage stats in here are.

DPS class + healer = win. Has nothing to do with lag or cheating.

Read the post I quoted in my reply, although it has nothing to do with the original purpose of the thread. Though on a note, did not have a personal healer ^^

I don't mean you personally, but the general trend to make a stats-thread out of this :).

Well, we will know soon... Blizzard took a bot-maker to court and if they win, they are going to ruin him for the rest of his life (iirc the set fine would be over 100,000,000$)

Fighting a healer or caster, suddenly he disappears and repops a few ft awayt from me ... bah

Next time I see someone do it, gonna report him

Ban the fuckers ban em all

This is perfectly detectable in the serverlogs normally ...

I had the same thing yesterday. Was fighting in the scenario and i started to chase down an Archmage. I'm on his ass slapping it hard when all of a sudden he is 100ft infront of me. So i chase him down again slowing him down to get closer. Same thing slapping him hard and boom another 100ft infront of me.

Needless to say I reported him and haven't seen him since.

Another one was 2 people from the same guild who were soloing a BO. So i stealth over and start killing the Bright Wizard who is about to die when all of a sudden he disappear and ends up over 100ft away from me behind a rock. So i go after the WP, who does the same thing!

Reported those two and also keeping a close eye on that guild when I'm playing my main!

I won't name names but today and I've noticed a few times before I've been in melee range hitting someone then they seem to disappear for half a second then their 100-150 feet away.

Doesn't seem to happen with everyone just a select few who if i catch their names will be reported btw ;)

I'll let mythic decide if their cheating or not,I just hope it is me lagging but seems odd the way it happens.

Whereas this could be caused by lag, there are ways to induce this behaviour purposefully. The means by which this is accomplished does not matter; it is unacceptable. Naturally, these things are hard for our CSR's to prove, and if you notice a player for whom lag constantly seem to have the gods of latency on their side, just file a report. Chances are that we won't find any proof the first time around, but if a player is getting reported for these sort of behaviour repeatedly, we'll nail them sooner or later. You see, we're using a penalty system which is accumulative; the more times you're penalized for something, the harsher we will respond.

These things will always be a work in progress and there's certainly room for improvement in WAR. However, the very nature of MMO's do leave some room for exploits and so players as well as service providers simply need to remain vigilant. Above all, we must all make the commitment not to fall into temptation to gain unfair advantages over other players.

Go to the haxor pages dl the hacks, debug them and see what they do, and counter it? (yeah i know it sounds easy)

And where do PB exactly come in? in earlier days PB prog be launched along with game and scan memory etc. now i cant find any activity whatsoever regarding PB.
I made a long mail to goa yesterday with some of the stuff i found, hope you guys actually gonna use it... that way at least the public hacks will have a hard time.

We will be vigilant!!!
Anyhow true, best way to solve it atm. Hopefully mythic finds a way to close the holes serverside ;)
Ps. Hire a top goon with a ban-hammer(the one with rusty edges)

This is getting seriously ridicolous, was playing my WE in Phoenix Gate today on Karak Hirn, some WP takes the flag, I chase him starting at the bridge area, its only me, a chosen and him.
I throw my snare daggers, he is snared and me and the chosen get into melee range - he continues to run while I get "target out of range" messages half of time, but we are still hitting him, now he gets on lowish HP - stands still for a milisecond - then he suddenly appears like 100 feet from us.
Me and the chosen stand there like idiots and cant believe what just happened.
I dunno what this is but it needs fixed, not the first time it happens and playing a melee class is quite frustrating atm.

Does this mean you have no way to actually catch cheats unless you are stood there monitoring them? Again, as others have mentioned, what is the deal with PB?

You do realise that the more players get away with this, the more will start using these same hacks just to compete on an even level. Hate to mention DAoC, but radar was never eliminated (a lot of players used it for years and never got snapped) and very few were ever punished. Unless you take a far more proactive approach (zero tollerance comes to mind, not this prissy penalty system) you are in for a serious problem.
