Is that it then? Have you stopped bickering about a pointless and frankly, boring subject?

No, I've not taken into the consideration the price of iceberg lettuce at Sainsburys. Expect a new thread to be up and coming soon!

If you're going to quote from the "Fair Warning", then cop this one too ...

No, one who says "hey shut up, if you don't like it go elsewhere". Which completely and utterly misses the point.

It's a lost cause, I'd have thought it near impossible to miss the point as many times as you have.

None of us are complaining about the rules, we just want to know what they are.

End.

Sorry xane, I don't see what you're getting at? You seem to have taken two unrelated posts and stuffed them together.

I was saying you had missed the point that I was making. You obviously still *are* missing it.

You've missed my point completely.

Can't you just argue this out on irc or something?

I've created #boring for you

As I said earlier (or perhaps it was another thread) I can't get on irc here, firewall is blocking the ports :/

If you don't like my plane of conciousness then go elsewhere.

Is that.. do I detect a sense of humour emerging? Good god!

:bazbeer:

And I did see what you were getting at, but seeing as you were making a point about the point that I was making, I was probably in the best position to let you know if you were missing the point or not.

edit: OK I'm gunna make it as clear as possible for you before I head home from work.

We fully understand that the rules are totally up to the mods, and they can chop and change them as they like, and if we don't like it we can go elsewhere. We were not complaining about the state of the rules, we were asking what the state of the rules were. Not with regards to abuse, but with regards to swearing, which at the time was unclear. This is not an unreasonable request. So when you come back with "if you don't like it, lump it" it's totally irrelevant, because we weren't saying we didn't like it, we were asking what were the rules so we could avoid being banned.

If it's still not clear, I'll make more of an effort to explain when I get home.

Why don't you just say "I asked first - ner ner nah nah ner".

It would fit nicely into your style of argument.

Granted that's what it looked like I was saying, but what I meant was, since I had made the statement, I knew where i was coming from, so from reading your response I could tell whether you were missing the point that I was making or not.

And read the post again, I edited it with more of a reply to explain, I couldn't be arsed to cut it and paste in to a new reply.

Okay, I'll address this one then.

You understand "the rules" can change as and when the management feel like it, and with that you have no complaint. Yet you want to know "the state of the rules" today, yet this is completely pointless as they can be changed instantly afterwards.

An example:

Ted: okay people, the word "fudge" is allowed, I wont ban you.
Nath: hoorah ! Fudge Fudge Fudge Fudge Fudge Fudge !
Ted: I'm gonna ban you Nath.
Nath: but you said ...
Ted: well, it's all changed now, sorry, bye.

As I said, the bottom line is "the owner does whatever he likes", a statement basically made by Ted himself, which is what I said and which prompted your little pretentious *sigh* comment.

What keeps it in check is that GAME management don't want to drive too many people away through facist like practices, but if certain problems occur then they'll just change the rules and ban you anyway.

Wanting to know "the state of the rules" does nothing but create a stick to beat management with later, I doubt they will be that stupid.

I see your point, but your point is invalid.

But frankly, we all know that the mods here are highly unlikely to be like that and as a result we can be pretty safe in the knowledge that if they changed any rules they'd give us fair warning, like they have in the past? If they changed the rules without warning and at random everyone would either end up banned or simply not want to read the forums.

Yet once again, we realise they can change the rules when they deem neccessary (or even if they don't) and we can't question that. So what good would trying to beat them with a stick do? None at all.
