Fucking loving the HTC one. Taking some time to get used to the Android way of things but so far am loving it. No more fucking wanky shitty iTunes just to put music on the phone :) Love it.

Just starting reading this. Seems to be a more thorough review than techradar do. Looks like a nice phone. Hope it can take a decent pic with that 4MP camera...impressive pixel density.
Not tried the camera yet but I like the fact that it allows more light in (due to larger pixels) so should produce better pictures.

Another huge plus for the One is the transfer application. I can't remember the name but my mates Dad paid me a tenner to copy all of his stuff from a S3 to the One. I though it would be an arse but that App did it all bar the email over Wireless. Epic.

Airdroid does wireless transfer between PC and phone. Free
I gather you can't remove the SD card then?

Anand did a mini review of it but warned that Brian's would appear later due to the sheer depth, and it certainly is rather large.

I'm not going to explain the whole 'ultrapixel' thing. People who understand cameras better than I do already have many times, so feel free to exercise your Google-fu. I'm much more interested in discussing what I think makes it so awesome, and there's really two factors to that. First, the One's camera is capable of capturing really, really great photos. Even by non-smartphone standards, I managed to get some very impressive shots using the One, only adjusting the 'scene' mode occasionally. The second aspect of this awesomeness is the ease of use of the One's camera. You point, you tap, you shoot - and it gets it right I'd say 80% of the time on the first try. Exposure, ISO, and focus are all working in harmony to get the photo you want to take.

I think I'm pretty much sold on the HTC One. Going to wait a little bit until some decent car kits come out. The official HTC isn't that great (dodgy wiring, & the cradle doesn't grip the phone so it can fall out if you make a sharp turn). Also waiting for Proporta to bring out a leather slip pouch with pull tab. Its the only type of case I'd get for a touchscreen phone.

I was going to go for the S4 but my S2 has just died on me after only about 8 months so I think i'll give HTC a go.

We had some of the HTC One prototypes in my office and they seem pretty sweet. I've not seen a "production" one but I imagine they're very good. I always preferred HTC handsets to the other Androids like Samsung and Sony but they can't do marketing worth a damn and they're looking a little creaky right now. Which is a shame.

You should send an email to Techradar. Let them know they're missing a vital component off their review menu: how long can it survive down a toilet bowl after its been sprayed by a healthy amount of arse-goblins.

What about inside a dog's digestive system? or inside a pan of chicken madras on simmer.
Speed of ejection from a woman's clunge. How well it performs in zero-G.

I CBA reading all the previous replies, primarily because I will be forced to write a reply to every single person that disagrees with my point of view... so my £0.02

I Have a Galaxy SIII, I have extensive experience with the HTC One X.... I would never spend money on either of these phones... the galaxy is shit, it feels like a toy, rubbish build quality, rubbish battery life, slow, sluggish.... nice screen but thassit.

The HTC has even more failings.

The only problem I ever had with my Desire HD was the battery life, but that only became a problem really late on in the phones life, and I do think it had a lot to do with all the unnecessary shit I had on it.

Wolfeh just doesn't like anything new. My Samsung s3 has been and continues to be a joy to use. Best phone I've owned for s long time.

Lol I like plenty of new things.these are just some of the issues I found with my s3 though:

I can't even go half a full day without charging it. On a workdays get up at 530. Phone comes off charger 100%. If it wasn't off its reset. Mobile data on, wifi off, bluetooth off, power saving on : I am in work by 7. Over the course of the day I will send maybe 3-4 text messages and look at the time on the phone say 20 times (immediately pressing the power button before putting it back in my pocket) I might, maybe, perhaps have to use the web browser for 5 mins in the day to look something up on medscape and possibly the calculator for a minute tops but that's quite rare. Anyway. Get to 730 pm. Battery life: 34-36% it's pathetic.

Build quality: terribly plasticky. Reminiscent of a late 90s candy bar phone with interchangeable covers. Namenonames. APPEARS quite solid. Appearances are deceiving however. I had mine in my trousers pocket in work. Was squatting down helping a clerk pick up a massive load of files she had dropped all over the floor when I got hit by some fucking idiot slamming a door open (the doors open both ways and this prick knew they were meant to open the door inwards but didn't, that's another story) I get pushed over, phone comes out of pocket, falls all of 10-12inches onto the floor...massive crack on the screen. I didn't even land on the fucking thing.

Performance? Sluggish at best, switch power saving off and there's a little improvement but still there's several seconds delay when you wait for the screen to refresh etc. and we're talking about things like going back to your text message list here where you were just at.

Frankly I could go on all day here but I won't. In summary it's what android phones were 2-3 years ago. Unchanged, unevolved. I thought everything had gotten miraculously better on the back of SEVERAL reviews where specific comparisons were made to other phones including the iPhone. But frankly it's all shit.

And no it's not just my phone. I know several people with the same issues who all feel like they've been sold a lemon.

LOL.... apart from the phone being plasticky, the rest is just down to how you use it and a potential faulty battery. The rest of your post is fluff.

Heh the other day I used my phone a shit load more than you have here; games, Twitter, Facebook, browsing etc. It lasted from 9.30am to midnight and still had 60%~ battery left.

Today, up from 8.30am, had a browse of Twitter etc and sent a few texts, 3 hours later it's on 97%.

How much are you guys spending/month on the phone? I hate people so don't even have a contract. But I want a new phone to do more running/music/app/movie shizzle.
