Zargar only states the most common actions that have been taken in the past, and cleverly leaves out the reasoning behind choosing the type of 'punishment'.
Hypothetically speaking if the severity of the action taken was in any way linked to the amount of complaints they get about the name in question, which if you think about it would make perfect sense. You could then argue that NP was treated differently in the respect that the all the complaints sent in by them regarding this case were treated as one single complaint (read: problem if you like, depending on your stance). This would be in contradiction to what he says in his post that everyone is treated equally. By this I don't mean the accused, but the people who have taken the time to send in the complaint. If there were less complaints about slobodan's firstname than there are about zargar's name then it would be rather unfair to slobodan, and the people complaining, to see zargar continue to use his name for his GM duties as an employee and 'law enforcer' of GOA.
Ofcourse all this is just speculation and hearsay, but it's still some food for thought about GOA and their practices.

I'd guess the category would depend on numbers of complaints, and also more intangible things such as level of offence, relevance to other players, and the approach taken on the complaint.
My view is that not knowing that your name may cause offence is a very good defence against banning or suspension. That could well result if you have deliberately tried to cause offence.
I don't see it as a good defence against changing the name.
Perhaps I live a sheltered life, but I've only ever heard of one Slobodan (before this thread). I wouldn't have complained, though, because if people were named to my preferred standards, I'd spent 24 hours a day complaining, and 99% of my complaints would be rejected (well, probably 100% after the first few, when I get considered a timewaster!). Also, I'm pretty thick skinned about such things. However, I can certainly understand why this was upheld. Had it been Slobodan Milosevic, I'd have expected an outright ban, and would have expected it quickly!
I'd love for my name to break some rule, but unfortunately the only links I can find are for part of the name of a farm in Oregon, another of my old characters in another game, the Templar website, and a misspelled Television credit! My wife hates my having a character name that isn't historically accurate for the period, so I'd love to change (but not so much as to start again)! Each time she rants about the poor naming in the Templars (who some consider name fascists themselves), I show her the names of other people in the realm !

From EULA:
“You acknowledge expressly that all characters created and all objects acquired and developed during the game are an integral part of the Software and the Expansion pack and strictly remain the property of the Publisher.”
This means in common gamer language: “GOA ownzorz your characters, kthxbye!”
From EULA:
“This EULA may be modified at any time without prior notice. You will be notified of these modifications a) when you access your Account or b) via a specific notice on the Internet site. All modifications take effect immediately following their announcement.”
This means in common gamer language “OMFG, we can also change the rulez when we wantz, and all you can do is whine on BW”
From EULA:
“We may terminate this agreement (including your License Agreement and your Account) immediately, without prior notice and with immediate effect, especially if we establish that you are violating the terms of this EULA, infringing the intellectual property rights of any third party, manifestly endangering public order or good moral standards, or if we are unable to verify or authenticate any information about you that you supply during the game, in the chat room or during any other activity connected to the Expansion and that we deem inappropriate and/or in breach of the spirit of the Expansion as defined in the charter, which can be obtained from faq.camelot-europe.com.”

From this I can only draw one conclusion GOA has the right to do whatever they want, whenever they want. The only option you as a customer has it to accept these terms or stop playing. So according to these rules GOA and any representative from them like a GM has every right to change things as they see fit. Nowhere in EULA or CoC does it say that GOA has to be fair, objective or treat everyone the same.
Commie, go ahead and report everyone, the worst thing that can happen is that they terminate your account. But that is a small price for doing the “right” thing!
I also agree with Zargar in the name change. Even if the name was nicked from “Torsk på Tallin”, a more obvious connection for most people is to the ex-Yugoslav president. Sweden is after all not the centre of the universe, even though some people fail to realize this.
