That said, if there's ever a gathering in the UK of DAoC peeps, and for some reason i decide to go {highly unlikely}, and peeps wear lovely badges with thier "in game" name on, be sure to note that i will put my fist through commies face... several times !

If you ignore that you hate me and that you hate NP.

Then read the original post again and pretend its writtin by someone completely unknown and you have no clue that slobodan is a NP member.

The idea with the thread was not to make it NP vs the world.
I wanted to show that GOA made a mistake and i used the only "power" i have to show that.
By making a list of names that was in violation of the same rules and get lots of ppl to report them.
Also telling the daoc community what happened.

Of course i knew that some ppl dont care about my message, if its right or wrong i mean.
They just care about me being NP and therefore hating me and saying that im wrong nomatter what. (Not saying that all ppl that dont agree with me is doing it just because im NP, but you get my point i guess).

And for the last part.
Im not coming to any UK-Daoc thing.
So, unfortunately you can not beat me up.

Sorry about that but if you want we can fight ingame sometime.

as you've probably seen from my sig, my main char is only lvl 45, ive not done that much rvr and can honestly say i have no idea if i have ever killed/been killed by a member of NP.

before this thread i thought of NP/SOTL etc.. as peeps who know the game well, seem to have uber chars as they spend alot of time learning what weapons/resists/bonuses etc... they need and that generaly people who flamed them were just annoyed by the fact that these guilds are better setup/organised then some of the others.

to be honest, i still feel the same way and this thread has not changed my opinion of NP. I can understand members of the guild coming to the defense of an nother member.

as to your Q about sloba, {and im being perfectly honest} if i saw someone with that name {and i havent/didnt} i would personnaly think... hmmm, bit out of order.... however i would just <shrug> me shoulders and play on, i wouldnt report em.

people posting here have pretty much made it NP V's World...

so coming to the end now {phew}

i don't hate nolby pride {or other big guilds}
sloba's name wouldnt have overly bothered me

Think its still VERY petty and small minded, there is no way you could have a "personal" disagreement with all of those names listed on the first post. Regardless of you being NP, it just sounds like one person does not like the decision made by GOA and is trying to prove a point that is not valid.

If you DO have a personal problem with those names on the first page, then im sure if you explain your reasons for each and everyone to GOA they will be treated in the same manor.

The fact that you are a NP member is not important.

The only relevant point in this argument is that someone took offense to the name Slobodan, I don't think anyone here would deny that it is feasible for someone to find this name offensive.

IMHO if certain people on this boards showed more empathy they would understand why Goa took this action and why they had to.

I haven't read all of this it's far too long but surely this has gone on a bit much.

Some things are copied and altered but surely it must be obvious that Slobodan would cause some offense. But I really wonder if finding that list of names was the right way to do it.

For example there is a low-level quest giving NPC in Albion/Camelot Hills named Nob. He is a stableboy and he is standing in a stable (best place for a stableboy in my opinion). But wait......I remember reading of another Nob the Stableboy...in Lord of the Rings. I am incensed and outraged. Not only is this a sexual reference, it is also a direct copy of published material which must be breaking some law or other. I demand that every server is closed down until this name is changed, and all other things that suggest anything not even remotely original are removed.

You had bad luck, a decision was made against you and considering the scale/importance of the name concerned I think you should just let it lie, your friends will know you as Slobodan now anyway, and probably continue to call you that.

From this I can only draw one conclusion GOA has the right to do whatever they want, whenever they want. The only option you as a customer has it to accept these terms or stop playing. So according to these rules GOA and any representative from them like a GM has every right to change things as they see fit. Nowhere in EULA or CoC does it say that GOA has to be fair, objective or treat everyone the same.

Commie, go ahead and report everyone, the worst thing that can happen is that they terminate your account. But that is a small price for doing the “right” thing!

I also agree with Zargar in the name change. Even if the name was nicked from “Torsk på Tallin”, a more obvious connection for most people is to the ex-Yugoslav president. Sweden is after all not the centre of the universe, even though some people fail to realize this.
