Nerner (Serenity) is a true scamming genius (and I love the roleplaying bit too ^^)

hardly roleplaying - surprised noone picked him up on his xenophobic comments on /br - little technicality that'd let mythic slap him down.

Sad sad bunch those darkwolves.

I'd call it roleplaying (well most of what he said) even if it was a sarcastic and humrorous twist, making fun of the people he traded with.

Cala-more, of course I wouldn't think it was as funny if it happened to me, that's just natural. But I like to think I'm not as gullible as the people Nerner fooled. And as for the killing of the merchants in DF, come on, it's not like you have to buy the stuf exactly NOW NOW NOW!! etc. Besides, that one was hilarious "Buy ye not the devil's armor!", "Adorn ye not with wickedness!", making fun of christians is one of the funniest things there is imo :p

If you find that funny and allowed, cool then I know you will do it to! Will not trade with you becouse you will rip people of and steal from them. Mybe not now but you WIll in the future. Will even put you on ignore to prevent trouble in the future.

And yes people who do this should be banned asap.

The thing is, in DAoC it's almost completely impossible to scam someone like this. I admire him for succeding but he's not the kind of person I'd want as a friend.

Oh yeah? How many times did you let someone "see" your weaps or armor? More than a few times, I'm sure. And what does it matter if it's a little item or the TG hammer? It's still your stuff. There's a level of trust in this game that most people have.... and if you laugh at that crap and think it's ingenious to scam someone in that way maybe you should (instead) consider being thankful that there AREN'T more assholes like that in the game.

That goes for anyone who thinks that is hillarious. It is sick, imo. Since most of the world believes that it is a rite of passage to fuck people over for their own benefit, why don't we try a little attitude change?

Trusting someone does NOT make you an idiot, btw.

Sorry for the rant and my language, but i can't stand shit like that.

Bullshit.

People who behave like that in games are scumbags, ruining other people's fun for the sake of a cheap laugh. Ban their accounts permanently.

Rofl why cant i just show them me with it and only in the trade window?

ha ha mythic make the game so that things like this cant happen ie with the two parties having to click accept and also if anything changes in either window the accept is disabled for a wee bit to indicate to both that a change has resulted

theres trust as in

"here m8 theres a fiver go get me some chips"

and then theres trust as in

"here totally unknonw person iv never met in person, heres the keys to my brand new sports car, go in check her out give her a test drive, dont worry ill wait here for ya ...em scott or is it steve? ah who cares have fun......"

lol u numpty

edit: also Nichneven for being such an arse lol ur on my hit list :)

all cookies need cream :p

also final note this guy imo is being a roleplayer, all beit a dirsty git roleplayer

a roleplayer non the less

there used to be adude in my old mmorpg who would sing and stuff in the town square for cash and there was another who would constanltly gank people on pvp and steal their gear and sell it back to them

its well within to ToS as he isnt actually taking advantage of a bub

just taking advantage that some peeps are just far far far to trusting

which tbh surprises me, as the world in which were living is full of people dying to leave u for dead just to steal a few pennies from ur dead corpse

Got to admit it is hilarious.

Not the stealing part that is, but the fact he really made it into Roleplaying and people still falling for it even with his reputation.
Not to forget that some of his members had managed to steal respec stones too

a lot of people don't know exactly how the crafting works - that said there were a few people there that should have known better.

Think a lot of them were kids as well - guess they've learned a little bit of mistrust for strangers.... might be a good thing.

Still pretty sick.

some people are still kids, kids are naive. He is abusing that naivity for his own gain and thats normally illegal and sick.

Btw dont you sometimes pay a crafter upfront? You give him the money and he makes the item.

Ow and people on merlin arent that dim, they had to rename their guild to dark puppies as they were dark wolves first. IT is rather weird that people didnt put the link dark puppy = dark wolf though :(. However abusing someones naivity and then giving it back can be fun. But just plain stealing is not. Besides with goa this isnt possible, as goa will just delete the item from the persons vault and give it to the rightful owner. Nice example of goa > mythic :D

Seems Dark Puppies/Wolves have left Daoc and according to their forum intend to continue their operation in another mmorpg game. Those intending to play SWG/EQ II take note. :)

What about people people who paid in advance for crafted items? Not uncommon for crafters to ask for at least some of the money in advance.
What about people who are honestly trusting enough to expect ld excuses and then get told they are confused?
I think this says a lot about mythics csrs handling what must have been realm wide complaints very badly!

Considering the community and realm aspects of this game I think it's a shame that some think that trust is redundant, so the basics of not giving out your account details is just plain common sense but even a smart man and his money are easily parted if he accepts an excuse just once, ok so you learn not to trust again but I've known smart people here to have been burned before and it's not something I would choose to laugh at.

In all honesty I was quite bored (although I found some of the conversations amusing) before even getting half way through the mans self proclaimed list of crimes and it's an unfair assumption that the people were plain stupid or even noobs, look about your realm, you see people working on a basis of trust all the time...
