Couldn't give a fuck about job losses at Faslane, it's less than a thousand, pales in comparison to the tens of thousands that went during the financial crisis in Edinburgh. And guess what, we're doing very well now thanks.

Its pretty much the only thing keeping ship building of any sort in Scotland.

Its not just 1000 jobs.

They do ship building in Scotland.

Start taking bits away, maintenance yards, the service industry and personnel etc and the other yards suffer.

More so these days where everything is sub-contracted.

The ship building is nowhere near Faslane. I don't see how UK nuclear disarmament would have any impact on ship building in general regardless of where they're built. You could argue that the naval fleet would be bolstered in a non-nuke UK and thus increase the building of ships.

That will be handy for independent Scotland's fleet of rowing boats :)

Take away trident and you take away the need to have any military shipping up there, the reason Faslane was preferable was because of the coastal geography being suitable for subs (there are other places but anyway...) and the ease of access to the North sea/North Atlantic (not so important these days)
It supports a whole lot of expertise that would not bother sticking around if it were to go, which would affect other parts of the shipping industry.

Ahhh we're not talking about iScot in particular, we're talking "no nukes" - iScot or not. Of course there will be trickle-down economics, but as I say it'll be a flash in the pan compared to, say, Edinburgh at it's height of the financial crisis (still ongoing for RBS lels). We'll move on from nukes quite happily.

Which still isn't enough from the exit poll, they would need Libs as well.

And to tempt out their old muckers from Sinn Fein, as DUP would normally side with the Tories.

It looks like a clusterfuck.

Hung parliament is a brilliant result from my position.

In the end most parties have dissenters but I suspect Labour is more likely to suffer dissenters considering how the PLP acted recently, so it'll be interesting in terms of a hung parliament.

To me this exit poll if true is the result of May seemingly vanishing at times and Corbyn promising to part the red sea to gain votes.

No one is going to be happy. You could say it's the perfect British result.

If the silly cow doesn't win a majority she has to go. Strong and stable indeed. Even if she does win a majority the fact that she's blown such a massive lead will be so embarrassing she might be pushed out anyway.

Doesn't that kind of show three were wrong and three were right, I mean I guess it depends on the margin of difference but then those little margins can make the difference between not having a majority and not having one.

There's going to be a swing from SNP to Tory in Scottish seats. Imagine that propped up a Tory majority at Westminster. Oh the ironing.
