You get a card in the post with your name and address on it, which you hand to the person at the polling station, then they ask you to confirm your name and address.
Its a bit dumb to be honest.
Theyll never get that past a country that just voted to leave the EU, you would see mass disobedience..ID cards will only come for banking and identity protection...being asked to carry one is a total no noQueue resuming talks on mandatory photo ID.
But yeah, politicians with an electoral majority love it when people don't vote. Not voting is doing exactly what May wants people to do. There is going to be a while load of bad shit pushed through over the next 4 years because the Torys are going to landslide it with a tiny proportion of those eligible to vote actually voting for them. I bet lots of people will complain about them though.

And interesting enough in East Africa they are using biometrics to ID government office staff and for voting and simcard registration.
