But yeah, politicians with an electoral majority love it when people don't vote. Not voting is doing exactly what May wants people to do. There is going to be a while load of bad shit pushed through over the next 4 years because the Torys are going to landslide it with a tiny proportion of those eligible to vote actually voting for them. I bet lots of people will complain about them though.

No, if you're on the electoral roll you just walk into your nearest polling station, tell them your name, they ask you to confirm your address, then cross you off the list. Then you vote.

Personally I'd rather we investigated lowering the voting age to 16 (I don't see why taxpaying 16-year-old children shouldn't be allowed to vote while they can join the army), and allowing the option of electronic voting. Yes, I know the latter is controversial, but you'd get a hell of a bigger electorate if it were possible to vote with your phone.

You get a card in the post with your name and address on it, which you hand to the person at the polling station, then they ask you to confirm your name and address.

Its a bit dumb to be honest.

Except they mark you off at the voting location, so if multiple people try voting it's picked up immediately.
In person voter fraud is nonexistent. Probably <10 cases per election, maybe less.

Early voter mail fraud is a much bigger problem, especially in certain communities I can't name without being labelled racist :p

Yes they do, but seeing as the only form of check they carry out to get you to read what is on the card, its pretty dumb. With so many people refusing to vote its pretty open to people simply selling their ticket.

I have no idea how often it happens, or even how the could detect it, as no name (rightfully) is recorded on the actual card you vote with. You could report it stolen but there would be nothing they could do after the vote.

Theyll never get that past a country that just voted to leave the EU, you would see mass disobedience..ID cards will only come for banking and identity protection...being asked to carry one is a total no no

You would be amazed what they can get away with when half the population are apathetic.

Turns out you don't even have to present it. Even more stupid.

And interesting enough in East Africa they are using biometrics to ID government office staff and for voting and simcard registration. Who'd have thought.

Whats to stop someone being registered under different names at two different addresses with different voting stations?

You will struggle to vote for chairman Corbyn and his mates, if you aren't registered to vote at the correct address!

It will affect the masses. Period.

As long as the majority of people are government whipping bitches then they'll be happy. A minority circumventing is of no interest.

Continue to vote Tory though.
