Martin thinks he will write a book on the rebellion once he is done with the last book...unlikely tbh.

That reminds me, I only ever got up to book 7 in that series. I told myself I wouldn't read further until it was finished, as the gaps between books made it difficult to remember what had happened previously. I should order the last few and start from scratch...

Don't, it's just loads more reading where all you can think about is strangling all the female characters.

There are two books to go. Winds of Winter will probably come out next year. No idea about the last one though (A Dream of Spring), on Martin's current form it would be around 2018, after the TV show has finished (which is expected to wrap up in 2017). I reckon there's probably a plan about that. There's also the slight worry about the very overweight 65 year old who's writing it...

This will be annoying.

Imagine the TV noobs dropping spoilers on people who are waiting for the final book. Oh how the tables will turn :D

Do read them, it's worth the effort.

Its one of those series that I really want to read but I just can't get past the first half of the book, its glacial.

Might pack it in my camping gear this year and bash through it.

Did they change Dany's bloke to some other actor? It took me a while to realise.

Yes, darios old actor left to replace jason statham in a transporter movie. Couldn't work out schedules w/ got filming, so we have a new dario.

More than the "ewwww" of shagging your own siblings? :)

Agreed. Or act very well at all IMO.
I'm an only child. it's very difficult to imagine. I'd certainly draw the line at the rest of my relatives.

Not sure I'd agree with that. He was great in Love/Hate and he was good in GoT until this episode. Its almost like he was overdubbed by someone else, it was that...odd.

I recently magicced up the time to buy and read the final three books, after I had re-read everthing up to book...11, natch. Worth it but there is the feeling that Sanderson was rushing to cram everything in, even though it's true that things just all happen at once just before the end. Also, some of the main and main supporting characters died and imo that could have been talked about / explained / drawn out a lot more than it was. Still, there is a WOT thread iirc :D

I think his character is great and he's done a passable job of transmitting it - but I think he's been pretty weak in everything I've seen him in, though I've never seen Love/Hate...

I thought he was really good in the Wire and definitely held his own against some powerhouse acting from the rest of the cast.

His acting has been fine in Game of Thrones up to now but that accent is just strange. Especially when he didn't have it in the other seasons. I can't remember if the book mentions him gaining his old accent back from his homeland or not.

Yeah I bet it transpires he speaks differently when he's in Kings Landing. Remember he's not a proper lord - he's just worked his way to the top.

I can't listen to the theme music at the start now without thinking "Peter Dinklage". Bitterly do I rue the day I clicked on that dratted YouTube video.

Did Job and tohtori swap accounts or something?

The show has dragons and redheads with their tits out, at it's worst it's good ;)

Also i'm almost offended you think Job is at my trolling level :(

Don't get me wrong, Daenerys is pretty daaaayum hot, but don't you think she's a bit of a weak/poor actor?

Especially from what I gather she's meant to be pretty strong?

Well she's no redhead, but in any case i think i'll agree partly on it, but only towards the foreign language bits. When she's speaking english she seems to be fine, but when she's trying to be tough with one of those non-english languages she seems to concentrate too much on that(or some such).

Or the languages just sound like girlie elvish :p

I think that portrayal of the character is pretty good.

She's meant to be this kid who was told everything was stolen from her family, any leadership she learnt was from her brother and khal drogo. She's idealistic not wise.
She doesn't know how to rule or lead really, this is her practice run for when she reclaims the iron throne.

How I laughed at the scenes in Crastor's keep. Especially the background!

Well put, i only know what i've seen in the show, but that puts it nicely in perspective.
