I really like Walking Dead. It's much better than Game Of Thrones. For me anyway.

I like the idea that society has broken down and you have to defend yourself. The zombies are a bit of a sideshow really.

However, don't let me interrupt you going on about GoT. I do like it to be fair, I just don't think it's as great as you lot make it out to be.

Watched it again to give it another chance.....nope...its rubbish...really its hardly better than Merlin...relies on tits and death to keep the punters watching.

Watching it from halfway through the 3rd season Job.... Seriously. Watch the first season, you can do it all on a rainy day...

TBH its probably me...my attention span is reducing to zero these days and the characters seem so forced that I cant give it enough to let them settle in my mind...I ended up jumping through for the tits

I struggled to come up with a joke involving irony... I was thinking Jeremy, Rust... they were all rubbish.

Random(ish) Moan: daenerys targaryen was one of my favourite characters from the book and I can't help feel that they seriously miscast her in the show. Don't get me wrong, I loved her breasts in season 1, but she just doesn't feel as strong willed or powerful enough to pull off Dany in the TV show.

Walking dead isnt even a zombie show. Its 55min boring pointless drama and people being emo and stupid as fuck and the occasional zombie segment to force some action.
Have to agree, I like to watch it but it is all a bit depressing. Just finished the first 3 seasons of Hell On Wheels, much better drama and characters.

GOT is the dogs, stopped reading the books to enjoy the show more and it is great TV, love it.

The walking dead would get boring fast if it was just NON STOP ZOMBIE ACTION GO GO GO, I quite like the fact that it looks at the relationships and whatnot and has some storyline.

Meh, I like both so...

Thing that worries me about GoT is that it seems to be never ending, from what I hear about the books there's a good dozen or so series left, I just hope it doesn't lose pace, lose the team that's doing the good work and replace it with rubbish, like when Lost came out, that was meant to be amazing, but after time it just got boring and died out.

I do think the books drop in quality after book 3, they split it across this and the last season. From a pure wow / shock factor there is little I'm look forward to seeing on screen once this season is over.

There are two books to go. Winds of Winter will probably come out next year. No idea about the last one though (A Dream of Spring), on Martin's current form it would be around 2018, after the TV show has finished (which is expected to wrap up in 2017). I reckon there's probably a plan about that. There's also the slight worry about the very overweight 65 year old who's writing it...

I thought the latest one was pretty good, it did drag in places but I never thought it was a slog to read it. The one before I actually skipped a couple of chapters because the characters story was so dull and I don't think I missed all that much really.

Worked out fine for Robert Jordan.

That reminds me, I only ever got up to book 7 in that series. I told myself I wouldn't read further until it was finished, as the gaps between books made it difficult to remember what had happened previously. I should order the last few and start from scratch...

They can always make a prequel to season 1 with things like Roberts rebellion etc, while the writer can catch up on his books. And wasn't there talk of a GoT movie/movies being planned for after the TV series?
