Nah London isn't fine, if it was i wouldn't have said what i said would i?

It was dirty, too many foreign people, ignorant people oh and the people riding bikes was just fucking dangerous sometimes, a few times we crossed the road on a green man and a cunt on a bike comes wizzing through shouting for us to get out of the road, my response? a very loud FUCK OFF.

And nobody accomplished anything that day, yei! :D

Btw, did you know that you don't have to be a bigot these days?

London is a shit hole though. Everyone walks round looking miserable and nobody has any manners. The sort of place you only visit if you absolutely have to.

I lived in London for 15 years, to say everyone looks miserable and nobody has any manners is clearly a load of bollocks.

Its about 90%.

True, except that if you're NOT from that little town, you'll get the same treatment as you would in major cities :p

Hellsinki is pretty much the same, people mind their own business. Which is also why i like it; they mind their OWN business.

He wasnt laughing with you.

Also, London is fine. You dont HAVE to live in places served by the worst tube lines. I live near three tube lines and can get into central london in 20m and always get a seat. Benefits = 99% downsides = 1%.

This. I have a 20 minute commute to and from work every day, I never feel 'crowded', there's lots to see and do, I live in a city filled with interesting museums, galleries, nice bars and restaurants, I get paid well for what I do (much more than I would elsewhere), I pay very reasonable rent considering it's London and I live 3 minutes walk from the tube station, I can get on a tube or a bus and go almost anywhere in the city easily pretty much 24/7, the list goes on.

Actually, you know what the best thing is about living in London? I live in Walthamstow, which has a huge Turkish community. Those bloody foreigners mean that local restaurants and shops are filled with good food at reasonable prices, that there are tonnes of nice cafes serving good coffee, home made cake etc.

Dinner for four in a Turkish restaurant a 15 minute walk from our flat:

Ooooh LONDON IS SO VIOLENT AND EXPENSIVE @!!11ou2bw;23kjb213;kbj

Of course the city life is not for everyone but seriously, Aada, do you actually live your life in such an ignorant bubble of idiocy that you believe the shit you spouted? Bloody foreigners my arse, the problem in this country is ignorant, bigoted, idiotic white people like you. And you know what, there's more of them in the countryside than there is in the city.

Expensive compared to where though? In the UK that's fucking cheap unless you're comparing it to going to Weatherspoons for beer and a burger or something. Two rounds of beers, main courses for everyone + sides at just over £10 a head? You either don't live in the UK or don't go out for dinner if you think that's expensive.

If that includes the booze on show that's remarkably cheap :)

It's our capital citiy, one of the great cities on the planet, home of the largest empire ever.
Of course it's overcrowded, but that goes hand in hand with the opportunities available and every large city makes people insular and miserable, but they're not really like that inside, it's the pressure of the madness.
But I don't appreciate the condescending attitude of a lot of the inhabitants about the north.
It's much. much nicer to live up here if accept the relative remoteness means that the world isn't on instant tap, it's not full of cloth cap wearing ferret breeders anymore than London is full of Alf Garnet's.

Think I'll just go ahead and get lacing Satan's ice skates for his journey to work tomorrow - I'm in total agreement with Job.

It does indeed. £2.50 per bottle of Efes, YEAH BUDDY.

As a Londoner born I would say there's no better job market in the UK but its not a great place to raise kids.

It was great when we were pre-kids and enjoyed nights out to theatres/art exhibitions + you name it - its happening somewhere in London.

If you want a pleasant city my favourite personally is Edinburgh.

If they could get a decent job up North no sane person would hang around the Southeast except for family I guess.

Edinburgh was brilliant before the bloody tramworks. Have alot of time for York, it is a lovely place to visit on a warm day.

That's all true, but even when kids etc. drive you out of London, there's always that niggling feeling that wherever you end up isn't....big enough, or maybe, just not at the centre of things. I enjoy living in Dublin and its definitely way better than London for bringing up a family, but it doesn't half feel parochial at times; small town and everyone knows your business. I think if I actually moved to proper village my killing spree would be front page news about three days later (and I lived small villages until my teens).

Gogo Olympic fail http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18856922

Am I allowed to say Olympic fail or is it considered a copyright violation? Do I need to check with the bastions of healthy living, McDonalds before using the word Olympic?

The same thing is slighty cheaper in Manchester and I do mean slightly. That is a bloody good price for London and any major European capital from my experience.

I must be proper boring then, because I've lived in small towns/cities and I've never felt like everyone knows my business, or maybe its because I'm not a massive drama queen who involves themself in gossip?

Rain, queues, prices, pickpockets.
Who the fuck are the people who want to go?
I would honestly rather spend a night in jail than go to the Olympics...honestly
