I would imagine UK will shoot past their Beijing medal haul today or tomorrow - only one gold, two silvers and four bronzes off at the moment. Pretty remarkable.

I still think the Olympics are shit though, still far too many empty seats and I hate the fact that it is so corporate, I actually think its pretty insulting to the athletes as well as the fans. I wasn't that bothered about going but a few friends wanted to but couldn't get tickets, then they see it on TV and it's only a three quarters full.

Looking at some stuff on the beeb and it seems there are about 20-25 medal possibilities left for the UK, of which around half are "probables" rather than "possibles". If that happens it will be the highest medal haul in 104 years.
