Is it just my imagination/lack of understanding of danish, or do the danish commentators keep calling GB England?

Well to be fair, not even all the brits know the difference. To us foreigners, it's england, scotland and ireland. Three countries, nothing really more.

Unless you've been spending time here, in which case you might accidentally learn sh*t :p

Its england, wales and scotland by the way. Also Northern Ireland for the purpose of the olympics.

Surprisingly common how many foreigners think Ireland is part of GB as well....and then call it England.

Except we can't even get it right ourselves; running around calling it "Team GB", when it should be "Team UK". Team GB excludes Northern Ireland.

I'm not sure what's funnier. Best Korea or Australia at the bottom.

I'm always fascinated by how uninterested India seems to be in international sport (cricket excepted). Second largest population in the world but nowhere at the Olympics or football or anything else really.

looks like a gold on the cards for the men in the velodrome.

re. what you've said dagaffer, on a smaller scale, i also find it interesting how countries such as denmark and the netherlands, where everyone cycles, has no presence at the velodrome, however, GB where about 4 people cycle on a regular basis have been churning out great cyclists for the last 15 years.

As I understand it, it was the opening of the Manchester Velodrome after the Commonwealth games that was one of the things that took the UK from being a cycling also-ran into being a contender.

2 world records in different events for GB's men in the velodrome... both in the heats. Amazing.

They won't be able to get their hugely corrupt paws into it.

Because they have their hugely corrupt paws in it.

(domestically at least)

And internationally. DRS anyone?

5th gold for Sir Chris Hoy, and by the looks of it, another one on the way.
