Retard. The transport infrastructure is alright for what it needs to do: carry the residents and expected number of visitors every day. Why would we ever build a transport system that can scale up to an event that happens less than every 30-40 years? Total waste of money. It's a few weeks, man the fuck up and be happy that all these tourists that arrive will be in hotels, renting cars, buying food, buying tat from shops, buying tickets and generally pissing their money up our wall.

That's fine and dandy if they piss more money up it than we've pissed down the drain staging it.

Nice piece

Few of the people were performers. They were ordinary people who contribute to society – and if there is a celebration, then it should be for everyone from the Queen to a nurse. I feel happy that they can all have their moment to tell their story.

I sky plus'd it because I was busy on Friday night, I wasn't actually planning to go back and watch but after what everyone on here said I did. The boy at the start was immense and must've been shitting himself, the industrial revolution was great, they could've done something a bit more snazzy with Mr Berners-Lee, Trevor Nelson can fuck off, the music-y bit was great (but why was that boy jumping around his bedroom in a dress...?), Macca is way past it and should just stop now. There's any amount of British musical talent that would've killed to play at something like the opening ceremony. Why on earth did they drag that old cunt out again. And the Arctic Monkeys, for that matter. It wasn't even a very good rendition of Come Together.
