Plus the cost of the filter ring. I can see why there are more and more blends.Lee DSLR starter filter kit on sale this weekend only (haven't checked prices elsewhere, but got an email from Robert White about it this morning).

Me too and sometimes from the same RAW file. As you know there's a considerable latitude in processing. I've experimented with one for the fore/mid ground and one for the sky. I'd never be without the 0.9 glass ND or the 10 stop though. As in exposure blends? I've started doing a lot more of them, much easier to control sometimes not to mention the lack of availability / price of Lee bits and bobs for those new to the game.
8x4 is still only limiting the amount of light by 1/32.When I was trying for long exposure stuff I was using a x8 + x4 ND combo to try and limit the light but I could never get it dark enough to get real long exposure times.
What was I doing wrong? I don't get it
Go full frame they said.

The ten-stopper mentioned above limits light by 1/1024.
Get one of those and you can have 3 minute long exposures in sunshine no problem.
I've made a decision on a new camera.
