Nice :)

You lose the envy when you start. But when you get fit it's f00king awesome :)
I hope you're right! I've always fancied it over running, I like the idea of covering a lot more miles and faster :p

I might try and form a saturday pub bike crew. Unfortunately, living in Ealing, it's like 8 miles before you get to the first non nasty urban road. I need to move out of London, it's killing me. I'm a country boy :(

When spinning/cycling in a gym, is it better to go high and hard briefly or medium and cruise for longer?

Depends what you're after, but in most cases, 'high and hard' is your best bet especially for weight loss or endurance. Do some HIIT, absolutely hammer it for 30-60 seconds then take is easy for the same and keep alternating it.

typically I zone out. I get runners (or in my case bikers) high pretty easy and I just let my mind drift. if you can't unfocus like that, tbh I'd say zero out everything with some tunes, or plan ahead and think about upcoming days / workouts / events / etc. Can't wait to get back on the bike, me :D

Just do what you can put up with imo. I go at the same pace for about 50 minutes.

Has anyone ever used the Virgin Active gyms before? I'm tempted to give the one at Angel a go. Right now I'm paying £45 a month for what I think could be the worst gym in London.

I miss the uni gym :( Loads of equipment and all the girls were fit. The one I'm at now is full of smelly fat fuckers

I've lost a stone since just before Xmas by just sticking to sensible meals and eating a breakfast.

Forget the gym, try insanity - 6 days a week from home. You will look like half the person you are now if you follow it properly and its over in 60 days!

And following it properly does mean eating right. It is tough, I did the first 30 days off the back of completing P90X and then hurt my neck in a non insanity incident so had to stop. I will be having another go at some point this year though.

wow that's....progressive.

I've stopped trying to understand keto and how the body works. this morning I am a good 500gr lighter than yesterday morning, and imo that's a massive jump considering I didn't get a lot of activity in over the weekend, and I drink lots of water/tea/coffee. Maybe it's just kicked in again for reals this time, but I started it more or less in the first week of jan, so I could be slow as fook. I'll hold to a strict week this week and see how I get on :)

There's abolutely no way that's fat loss, TdC. It'll be predominantly water weight and the natural variation due to food/shitting/drinking cycles.
And in fact I've had days where I've been 2.5kg different in weight (both up and down), but then I'm a big guy so the percentages are not as scary as the absolute numbers.

I'm down 7.1kg over the last month (that includes Christmas, bitches!).

I dunno man. With the keto I take a dump like once a fortenight or something o_0

I notice that if I drink tonnes of water I lose weight. The better hydrated I am the more I lose. I drink between 2,5 and 3,5 liters of water a day.

This is normal and I notice the same thing. The body doesn't need to retain so much fluid when you drink enough. I don't do keto as you know and see the same thing with a regular low cal diet and exercise.

I just laughed out loud on the train at this :)

Truefax. I've been on Keto since the middle of December and have lost nearly a stone. I've basically cut out all the sugar and stuck to a strict list of foods and whammo, it's pretty much dropping off. I eat less than 25g of carbs a day and drink 2-3 litres a day of green tea. Water gets a bit boring after a while.

Check out /r/keto on Reddit if you need more pointers and I've got a MFP diary on the go here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/moifmurphy - password is bacon.
