I've got an academic poster to design for some coursework due in a couple of weeks and I'm not the most creatively gifted person out there :D

After having a look through google images i've found a background that might be suitable (the poster's on ankle injuries), but I don't think the black background lends itself well to an eye-catching poster.

Would anyone be able to crop the image below and/or manipulate the background (and possibly the image) to a colour that would be more visually friendly to place text on top of/around it (image and background)

Heres the image, it's going onto A3 paper so I'm hoping it won't end up pixelated when blowing it up.

Any other tips on making it look pretty would be appreciated too :)

Cheers guys

Black is a great background colour. It allows the content to stand out rather than the background. ¬_¬

Yeah draw a massive cock on there, then shove it up your arse!

Cokenoze - that sort of worked but theres loads of little dotty bits around it #

ST^ - You think black would work well? I'd have thought its not particularly eye-catching and not give a great background for other images, although text would be easy to read i suppose.

I like the black.

Use white text. Problem solved.

No other colour is going to make the x-ray stand out as much.

Yeah you can make the black work, even if it's as bland as any background color with no variation.

But with xray things, it works.

I'd use a real xray though, not that 3d model one. Might be jsut me, but sticks out ike a sore penis :p

I don't actually see how anything other than black would ever work for an x-ray.

White works well too, but it needs the black in it ofcourse.

Kinda likie having the xray on the lightwall.

Actually that's what makes the original image a bit, iffy. It's too full on black so the black doesn't seem part of the xray.

Been playing around with Photoshop having never used it before and managed to edit a picture to look like this (5 meg image warning)

The only problem I'm having, is when i go to use these images into powerpoint with the dimensions set at A3 so i can see how the poster will look printed, i'm only getting around 2/3's of the actual image on the poster in the print preview;

Left image is on normal dimensions, right is when it's adjusted to A3

Any ideas?
