I work at a gamehouse(part time) and most the time i work with my major passion, science. More presicely, medical science at the helsinki universal hospital.

But...today i heard something that is really f*cked up and i'm thinking about going on the major printing presses just to get the word out.

According to our lead herbalist(inwork joke, nm) we are 98% complete in a cure for cancer. Now that's not the f*cked up part, it's actually amazing.

The f*cked up part is that their not going to release the cure out into the public because, and i quote:

"We don't want the world to know what kind of a power we have."

It's so f*cked up i almost destroyed the lab i work in. Their comparing a cure for cancer to a weapon! Jesus...

Obiously, if you work for a lab developing any such treatment, you will know this xane, so I point it out for others who may not.

"Cancer" is an umbrella term for many different problems. You can get rapidly dividing cells that do not suicide as they should for a number of reasons. It can be a fault in the cells dna realted to the suicide, it can be a fault in an enzyme it produces that makes it divide more rapidly than it should etc.
Hence any "Cure" is highly unlikely to cover all cancers.
Even now, different combination therapies are used depending on the type of cancer you have. Imo any search for a "cure pill" is likely to be futile.

Cancer research teams split out the different types of cancer, and then split out the suffers by age group and lifestyle. It's been shown that the current treatments effectiveness varies significantly from one group to the other, so much so that some treatments for one group are unsuitable for another.

(But a quick search on google or looking at your inbox will probably find you can buy a magic device to cure cancer. And probably make your willy bigger too)

Toto, you know there are a few people on these forums who have cancer, some of them with a poor prognosis. There's definately more than a few people on these forums that have lost someone to cancer. I'm not one of the rah ban brigade, but in all honestly I doubt you have seen sicker things on these forums. What that "joke" offered was a cruel mix of false hope, and futility over the lives wasted.

As i said a long time ago, i can't go on all the time being careful not to offend people with cancer, people who are black, jew, chinese, short, fat, furry, a piece of tomato on their nose....and the list goes on.

If people think i targetted some group with that, i didn't.
