Guess what, people use more than just the forum to keep in touch. Maybe you dont have anyone that wants to keep in touch with you outside of their Freddyslife, but it doesnt mean that others dont keep in touch via other methods

In that case, what all you all moaning about? Her decision, you're still in touch with her, who exactly has lost anything?

Personally I doubt I've spoken to her on more than one or two occasions, if that, and couldn't give a toss either way, but I do take exception to all this "ooh the nasty generalites drove our precious away" bollocks. And I also think all this "we OTers understand each other" stuff is a load of auld shite an all. I'd be extremely surprised if there haven't been more people banned on OT for being trolls and twats than in General.

Its very simple; its the internet, if you don't like things, ignore them. Personally I've never put anyone on ignore, even Toht (and God knows I've been tempted), but if you really feel Wazz or whoever is making you have a *sad face*, ignore the curmudgeonly old ****. Its not rocket science.

Historically, the most problematic sub forum to moderate has always been the DAOC-OT forum. Think back to all the people you know have been banned and where did it originate? Over tha last couple of years, with DAOC in decline anyway, we have deliberately been far more lenient with stuff. What do you really want? Tough obnoxious modding where we don'T have any flexibilty or a relaxed forum environment?

I'm sad Ez decided to leave, but that is her decision and choice, and it has jack shit to do with the way Tony runs FH.

I can't do a /sober thing now cos I am still pissed

Oh... and fuck off giving TdC a hard time... he is awesome! :twak:

No mate, I want you to slap people jumping in a thread and dropping a negativity bomb that contributes zero to the discussion but is designed to obtain a reaction. Enforce the CoC, it doesn't have to be to the letter but surely the spirit, this rampant negativity is going to drive alot of members away otherwise and I do not want to see that happen.

God bless Jup, btw, TdC is a ****. Thanks.

Difference between free speech, and the continued beef that's occurin' imo

No, not at all, I can shutdown this thread if I want to, it went way off mark ages ago but I am interested in reading opinions rather than stifling them. Trust me, I hate censorship so fucking much.

Listen up carefully, if posts are not reported then expect no action. I do not read every thread ever posted here but I do read the reported posts and if required take action. So, REPORT the post.

Dunno mate, I have posted more, sadly recieved more abuse as well. Trying to take it on the chin but it gets a bit old really. Was very much pro-merge and actually fell out with a few people over it, I still feel it could be a good thing but certain people need to start playing by the rules or ignoring threads by people they obviously dislike.

Seriously don't try to use yourself as some sort of benchmark for proving a theory of more abuse.

In general the forums are fine as they are and they'll never be able to match everyone's personal ideal of being perfect, the idea they were at any time in the past is utter rubbish.

I'm not sure it has anything to do with OT being perfect. To the OT people the Generals are like Pikeys who have parked up on our football pitch and invite themselves to our BBQ's. Until we get to know them and they get to know us it will be them vs us.

I just feel we should not be hasty in judging people. No point naming names as everyone knows who is involved - but we do not get along with a few members, that is fair enough. Atleast try and give other people a chance.

This is not real life, it's an internet forum. We have the pleasurable option of ignoring other users, should we wish to. To all the sceptics with regards to ignore, it does work, I for one have used it many times.

I have had feuds with the moderators in the past, but I guess they just want to do things in the best interests of FreddysHouse, merging two sections that are essentially the same is common sense. I certainly did not anticipate this tribal war that has emerged as a result. I sympathise with them, I really do; and I genuinely do not believe that they look more favourably on one group of people than they do another. That takes a lot for me to say - because I have been treated unfairly by some moderators before due to the fact that I killed their characters in Thidranki.

Dori, there is a difference. There is unnecessary and unreasoned spewing of poison , and there is that based on reason.

You received it in the past due to the fact, previously, you were a complete and utter cock on these forums. People remember that and arent quick to change their opinion as it was done over a long period of time.
That said some have been more willing to give you yet another chance, some give light hearted digs about the past (you never neg repped me like you do others, so guessing you noticed the jokey undertone of mine).

OT had old.Toht, now everyone knows what an arguementative fucker he was but we just took him for that. We knew him etc. The fact there are unknown people wanting to have their say in a bitchy hateful manner for the sake of it means people are more likely to take it to heart. Not many people randomly insult a stranger in the street talking to their "friends" because they didnt like what they heard, and if they did there would be a reaction.

OT grew up together for lack of better description, when you throw new people in to a group, and these people insist on being bitter then shit happens. That is unfortunate but it is also life. Just because it is the internet does not mean you should lose common courtesy. If you got nothing worth saying, then dont say it.

I haven't spoke to my brother-in-law since January because he has an attitude about something that doesnt concern him, tried to sort it and he acted a cock and as such I am having nothing to do with him until he sorts his act out (he being so bad, he faces being kicked out by his parents). I bring that attitude here, if people are saying things I dont like then I ignore it and just wish others done the same if they can do discuss issues civil.

The fact that most things go on this forum is great, but sometimes people take it too far and do not think about the repurcusions of their actions. As it is the internet they dont care.
Personally, I will only report posts if they take it to the extreme. I know Im not perfect and can be a twat, arguementitive, offtopic etc etc and so I am included in what I say. But at least I try think about other people even if I havent met them irl.

This is so true. I would know, having been banned several times for my OT behaviour, before the current generation of OT people were even in OT (yeah yeah, I'm a OT hipster). It has always been the ghetto of FH.

Have done on a few occasions, sadly I do bite though and end up arguing the point rather than ignoring it. Far from perfect myself and maybe I need modding into line at times as well, would rather that than the current situation we are all in where it is becoming factionalised for no other reason that we used to post in different parts of the same forum. All of that is frankly a nonsense but I do understand why they are getting upset, in this case extreme comments are provoking extreme reactions leading to even more extreme comments. Everyone needs to calm down, think about how destructive all this is becoming and what part they are playing. Personally I am torn down the middle, I wanted the merge and I still think it will work, as pissed off as I am at the moment I will try play my own small part in making it work.

What a bunch of gaylords. And what a pissy primadonna. Sorry, who the fuck deletes their account on a forum? Instead of bitching about Generalite scum, you might want to ask yourselves, if she's such a wonderful person, how come she had no problem dropping you losers like a hot brick after five minutes of Wazz-love? Deleting your account is making a statement; normal people who stop liking a forum simply stop posting, they don't make the grand gesture and then have someone start a thread about it.

She's probably lurking right now reading this and getting off on all sycophancy. Well if you are reading this, shame on you.

sychophancy ? after 7 years, it more like love from OT'ers, try again fool. Oh and, she knew exactly what would happen - this thread and all it contains..she has reliable friends.

Interesting how the OT folk talk about how vemonous and destructive my posting can be, and then one of them (I won't name names) has left me feedback telling me to "fuck off and die."

High ground? Really? How can what I said be any worse than wishing death on someone? By the way, I don't take offense to it and it doesn't affect me at all, just shows someone up to be an utter embarrassing hypocrite of the worst kind.

Still don't understand why OT and General were merged in the first place, it was always going to end up with crap like this. Both 'sides' have their good and bad posters, but merging the two was simply always going to exacerbate any issues especially when a large section of both parties feel they have some kind of superiority over the other.

With that said, it's just an internet forum. All this drama is more than a little OTT.

And Wij is right btw, as soon as there was potential for a merge I'd been posting in both - some time before the merge. Does seem to have been forgotten. So I don't really see myself as a generalite thrown in with OT people. And I thought it would help you all become accustomed to me. I'm really quite likeable. ;)
