the machine gunned the kids, in some protest against Russian occupation.

Its easier to understand and their readership want to be reassured that their worldview is true.

I actually think this is going to be a confusing one where the motives never really become clear - a tragedy for all really.

Something clearly has triggered this I doubt its Chechen related very much and they haven't left the country for a while so not like they have been training anywhere.

Allegedly the older one had posted stuff supporting independance for chechnya and vids from syria (which a security expert guy who spoke earlier said a lot of the chechens had joined the syrian rebels).

VK.com, amazing Facebook don't sue the hell out of them tbh, although its in Russia so that would be fun. I actually thought it was fake because it shows he only has 11 friends, which didn't square with the "popular kid" line, but he's probably on FB as well.

I see all the posts here and everywhere else making light of this in some ways because of all the awful things elsewhere in the world...and I know the people are right...but I had to bite my tongue from lashing out because this has hit really close to home from me.

Its a bit difficult not to be flippant about all this if you're English; I've been "just a couple of miles away" from bombs going off more times than I care to think about (I think about 1/2 a mile would be the actual nearest - BBC bomb), and I have to admit to a certain schadenfreude about it being Boston of all places in the US going through this (not that I'd wish it on anywhere, but if I was forced to choose...)
