Its a huge zone they have cordoned off - over a million people in the area concerned who have been told to stay in their houses while heavily armed police go house to house - not sure why they think he's still in the area unless they found the car though?

In pursuit of a suspect who has allegedly comitted murder etc. then I imagine not.

If they believe a crime is in progress (in this case, evading justice) they don't need a warrant.

On a more practical level if half a dozen armed/armoured police are at your door its probably not a good time to make an issue over legal niceties...

Nothing will be solid till the weekend - this is leaked to CNN etc from the investigation and their priority is finding the last guy.
