I am Liverpool fan and have been since the first game of footie i watched when i first arrived in London.

I have never ever been to Liverpool in my life and whats even worse, for some people, i only ever been to a football staduim once. Old Trafford to watch Manu vs Everton on a school trip arranged by one of our teachers - was a thing he used to do every year for the fifth formers.

Does this mean i shouldnt be a die hard Liverpool fan or that i am any less a supporter then some guy who happens to have been born or brought up next to or near the staduim?

If you live in England in this day and age with cheap travel there isn't really any excuse for having never seen a single match. The only thing that would let you off would be age, so if you ain't over 21 and working I could understand why you have not been able to attend. Still, surely Liverpool play away games somewhere near where you live? What is stopping you from getting a club membership and paying £30 for a ticket to an away game? If you can't afford it fair enough, I am not one to make judgements or pass comments on peoples financial situations. As much as I love football I do understand it cannot be a priority for people in education or with kids and mortgage to pay.

Or goto a game in London. Plenty of teams dont sell their home allocations even for Liverpool.

Cho come on msn you cock knocker i need closure :p:D

Off out bud, you don't need closure though, you should be proud. Chelsea made the final, fought like tigers and it was a toss of the coin moment that won the game. Chelsea deserve a ton of credit for what they have done this season and I am not going to devalue that by saying anything else today.

Yes

99% of the fans are not hooligans. Its all hyped through TV and the media. Goto the game and see for yourself. If you want trouble I am sure your dealer will show you it

Isn't it funny how what I said: 'either side deserved to win - united dominated first half - chelsea after that' etc. is agreed by a lot of people?

You just can't take losing buddy (very few of us can!) - it'll come with age ;)

Rofl, once again, don't be a cock.

I appologised, unlike i've ever seen you do in any of your whine threads.

Hahaha i have seen some pretty fucking graphic shit on TV over the years with regards to hooligans.

Maybe you werent old enough to remember what it was like in the 70's and 80's with footie hooliganism but i do and as a result of this i will never watched or will ever watch it at a staduim.

You only watch the fights,

you'll be surprised how many people go to a football game NOT looking to fight.

I think you'll find its about 96% ;)

Aye, all it takes is a small few to spark off th fights, and then it spreads, especially when the police have to come in to break it up.

The fans are trying to restore some pride back into the game, the hooligans are just knobs who get off on violence.

I lived very close to Baker Street Tube Station and i have been accosted, abused, shouted at, spat at, had booze thrown on me over a long period of years at the Globe pub next to the tube over a long period of years. So much so that i stopped visiting my mates who live there on match days.

Explain to me again about the other 96% please, as it really makes a difference.

Well, i've never seen or been in any fights at a football game.

Nowadays there is so much police presence that it is organised elsewhere.

Looked to me like JT was wiping his nose when he was having a go at Tevez, maybe it's my blue glasses though.

Fact is JT gets far more stick than he should. He's a fantastic captain who puts himself on the line and has more dedication to the club than anyone else in the english game.

Everyone is the same, the likes of Gerrard, Scholes, Keane, Giggs, Viera etc, have all had their fair share of problems with officials and whatnot, but of course it's overlooked because they are idolised with their fans.

I am not talking about fighting, just had the misfortune of walking past or near to....

I live in Leeds and support Newcastle as I am from............Newcastle

now, I can see what you were trying to do there but sort of failed. These people were from Barnsley with Barnsley accents, London with London area accents, Ireland with....well you get the jist. Of Course, this doesnt mean they are not from Manchester :)

Oh Marc, I see the Saints have got backing for their new Stadium?

I have taken my 53 year old mum and my 77 year old grandmother to Old Trafford bud and you never get that kind of aggro up here. Pubs are the dangerous places as you are much likely to get shit, there are always a few drunken wankers with big mouths. That is the ugly side of football for me now, the grounds themselves have never been safer or more friendly. All that said I don't live in London so I cannot comment on that, goto Liverpool though as a Liverpool fan and you will get no bother at all.

I think the technical term is a "snot rocket". :)

Nevermind, Terry will be wiping his snotty nose for a while year until his tears dry up. ;)

Anelka is the one I feel really sorry for, he only got a few minutes in the game and then had to take the most important penalty in the history of Chelsea Football Club. I am glad his shot was saved but I do feel bad for the fella even if he is a miserable French git! ;)

Hehe

Ive travelled to many away games with NUFC. Manchester and Liverpool are my fave. Always have good banter with the away fans in the pubs and in the ground no matter the result tbh.

Now, Sunderland is a differnt matter, go in the ground and thats it, but surley thats common sense? Manchester derby I should think would be the same.

If you want the trouble its their, like I say but 99% of matches Ive been to its a good laugh and all about the football.

I have watched one game at Old Trafford and the atmosphere was amazing and some of the chanting i will never forget, well one chant in particular has stayed with me for years.

The problem is not in the stadium but rather what can happen to you on the way to or from the match, as most of the people watching the game feel the need to get totally drunk and the abuse just follows.

But all good, as i said earlier i dont feel inclined to watch the game in a stadium just so i can be told that i am a "real fan" Besides which its a bit far from Qatar to Liverpool so i guess i will have to stay a unreal fan till i am next in the UK :D

*EdiT* Chelsea players are a bunch of moaners who cant seem to handle decisions going against them. Not saying that all Manu players are innocent but rather not as OTT as some of the Cheslea crowd. Just wish ref's would dish out a few red cards right at the beginning of the season and that would see the end of all the diving and moaning and play acting.

I take it you stay at home on a weekend and never go out? Your more likley to get done over on a night out than too and from a footy match

Its the same for all the top four tbh and its creeping down the league!
