How do you know it’s happened? It’s physically imposable the way you’re explaining it. Elkie either got trojaned or someone stole his msn password or something else happened that he’s not letting on about. This e-mail from goa sounds like it’s harmless and done intentionally

Or somehow, they got his email, then go to goa site to have account details sent to him, and the hacker reads the incoming mail from goa with the passwords. And this could possibly be done by either putting a trojan on his comp, or by somehow surveilling his connection to read the email. Or what do I know.

Btw I have had some trouble in the past with goa automated system refusing to change e-mails to certain address like @aol.com, try a different one or check junk mail if you are not receiving the e-mail. But imo I would say your fine and over reacting

Biggest chances are probably that he got it using a trojan or a keylogger by the sounds of it, it all sounds very odd though, exactly what did you do when you talked to him on msn or/and added him to msn. And what is the mail he sent you etc?

HIS MSN IS BOOM_BOOMKTHNX@HOTMAIL.CO.UK IF HE ADDS YOU DONT FUCKING ACCEPT. Its gimmly the guy who got banned for selling radars we have his ip i sent it to tears and tears i going to deal with it i hope. And ofcourse i have pmd requiel with that matter. Hes been spamming it in all bgs and alliance and in rvr zone /b acount details ect and on irc, luckely some stranger loged on acount pmd me saying im on your acount il stay on it till 2moz when goa come. Sound's like he was using ICMP or something, or at least tracking the email he sent you until the destination (You) had viewed it, downloading the information from the email, which could have sent an ICMP message about the destination IP.

Do you have a firewall or anything active? He could maybe have managed it by monitoring the traffic sent to the GOA servers, it's possible with both IPs available he played "Man in the middle" and nabbed your info?

Modem -> Firewall -> *Vast space of teh intarweb* -> GOA servers

He could have still intercepted the traffic as the reply giving away your IP probably could have passed unnoticed on the sending back to him, it's just ICMP traffic.

So packet sniffer seems likely here.

The above techniques don't really take a lot of knowledge, someone said gimmli probably wouldnt know enough for this, but yes, indeed, someone as stupid as him could do this, it's still around "Idiot" level to do this.
