Did some of the training last night with m/kb. My flightstick cant arrive quick enough (maybe i am just crap)

Struggling to shoot barrels!

From when I tried m/kb ... did you change the mouse to pitch/yaw and put roll on keys ? Also play with the mouse axis deadzones a little, and the sensitivity. IIRC I specifically got rid of any 'yaw into roll' as well.

I didn't really go through the options, I will do that when I have time...I was a little overwhelmed by them tbh

I was mostly getting the graphics just so, tried to spread it over two monitors but wasn't happy with that...the bezles are far too big on my screens.

Yeah, the default kb/m controls aren't the best and require some adjustment. The pitch/yaw swap being the most obvious.

I did but I played it on an Atari ST and Amiga but I donno if I cba to go back to buying flight sticks and stuff. Is it playable on a game pad? Might be better than a m/kb

It might be better but I doubt you will get the required precision with a control pad. After fiddling with the controls it makes a massive difference with the mouse.

I played Elite basically exclusively. At school I would fantasize about the game. I had an MSX and that was what I played on. Later I had a C64, and that version of Elite was naff (imo) compared to the MSX one.

hmm come to think of it i might have had this on the spectrum if it was out that early. First computer i owned around 1982/3 the 48k one

But did play with the schools BBC Micro when i was in junior school.

It's actuallh pretty good now.

Stable, and most of the bad bugs are sorted.

I actually feel like I am progressing. Pimped out viper, 600k in the bank, and ranked in the imperial navy.

Likewise. Not as good at fighting as Urgat, but not bad at trading and missions. I have a nice Cobra with extended jump range (over 15ly, could be better for half a mill cr or so ) and some decent upgrades, and a nice investment balance for trading of about 350k

Not seeing any bad bugs at all, no crashes (except my flying) and tweaks are coming thick and fast from the dev team.

We're all free roaming so far, but I have chatted a few times in game to Urgat as he is on my friends list. I am sure that as I get my ship how I like it I'll be looking to team up more, PLUS the devs have more work to do on that which is coming soon. I chat to my lad on Skype when he's playing, and also to Nicodemus... I think I could understand your dodgy accent fella

Also, @Roalith is ingame somewhere, but not heard from him as yet

Is it worth getting?
Is there a difference between playing on the £39 joystick someone linked, and the Saitek £169 type x55 ones?

Well naturally I'd say yes, but watch plenty of videos and decide for yourself.

Joystick-wise, I have the £40 and it's perfectly good IMHO (although I have seen posts on the Frontier forums saying they are hard to get now).

Afraid not old chap. You'll also find using voice comms with friends ingame to be clunky at best... If you have any questions then pop them here and we'll try to assist. Be prepared for a struggle to begin with but it DOES get easier

If I wasn't off away tomorrow I'd suggest maybe setting some better Freedy's comms up.... any volunteers?
