What's brilliant is that they have totally over played their hand. They won't have a PM, so their only options are to sit down or split.

If they split, they won't win any seats. If they stay, their leverage is nothing.

It would be funny if it wasn't so tragic. Hope you're all looking forward to Austerity 2.0
They're going to fucking hammer people like me (more than they are). The poor haven't got much left to give, they'll never touch inherited wealth or the actually wealthy - so it's double-barrel taxation for the middle classes and a massive cutback on services.

I wish we had to use evidence as a basis for policy by law - because the evidence shows austerity never worked.

(In fact, I wish we'd ditch "economics" as our fundamental cornerstone of society - because it's as much use in running a country as a PhD in pokey bum wanks).

While cuntish, it's obvious he just doesn't want to give the conservatives an issue to attack him on.
ie letting them label the strikes as his, or being tarred as the "looney left" like corbyn was.

So we're going to have 0 left wing policies whilst the media is controlled by the right?

Yay.

This sort of thing always seems to happen to Hancock. It's like he's a magnet for awkward interactions.

Sadly not resigned the whip. I think they should all do the right thing and fuck off to their own Bruges Group/ERG party and see how well they get on. Even the Tories have rejected them.

I was in Downing St all day yesterday, could have done today also but I have other commitments I need to be home for. Highlight of yesterday was seeing Larry:

The Tories just can't get out of the mud, the grasping hands of the far-right arm of the party just keep dragging them back in.

Shell paid zero windfall tax in UK despite record global profits
Shell has paid zero windfall tax in the UK despite making record global profits of nearly $30bn (£26bn) so far this year after exploiting a tax break brought in by Rishi Sunak
[Shell] said it had not paid the levy and did not expect to throughout 2022, … in part because of heavy spending on drilling more oil in the North Sea

Excellent move there Prime Minister.

I can't entirely agree Gwad... it is because of fare dodgers that the prices have to be expensive. The rail companies need to break even and as they are not nationalised they probably have to turn a profit to appease the shareholders or they will not receive further investment which will mean that there are delays to repairs and technical upgrades...
