Plenty of Tory MPs said they would resign the whip if Boris came back anyway so he wouldn't have a working majority and be suspended from parliament.

I mean they had that useless skin bag Brendan Clarke-Smith on Newsnight, who is naturally a Boris supporter and his opening gambit was that Johnson was on a deserved holiday as if he hasn't had multiple already and that he was more or less on a 2 month paid one while the Tory party decided the best person for the job was Liz Truss.

Journos all over Europe are saying exactly the same thing. I was listening to a German journalist based in the UK on a podcast the other day and she said her team and readers back in Germany just cannot get their heads around why the people aren't kicking off.
