I was almost the victim of a very clever ebay scam. Had an email from a seller saying "Why have you not left payment details? Please do so or I will leave negative feedback." Had a little window in which to leave my reply and right next to it the ability to login to send the message. Was just about to click "Login and send message" when i noticed that a) no pictures had appeared in the email, despite the fact that I have enabled all pictures to appear in any ebay photos sent to me and b) that for a british seller, his english was poorly worded.

"I have been waiting for quite a long time for you to reply , whith the payment details .For the reason i will be forced to report you to ebay as , an unpayed item strike , and as a result your ebay user will be suspended , and you will receive negative feedback in the future .Think again and give me your decision.
Regards"

However, just incase this isnt a scam and this fella is actually talking about something real, I logged onto the real Ebay site and left a message there. Beware any emails that appear in your account people.

FFS.

Following the oven bulb saga, I ordered one online from Maplin. They sent me one - and its like a fucking golf ball - despite the order code showing exactly the lamp I need.

Utter utter idiots.

It gets better. The other part of the order was a 12V wire bulb for my doorbell. Funny how they could confuse a 5mm diameter bulb for a 5 pin DIN plug.

Tip: Don't use Maplin online - its shit.

Hi there I noticed that you are bidding on a modded Xbox. Firstly I would like to say that we are not trying to steal your custom from the seller, its hard enough trying to make any money on eBay now so we wouldnt do that. The reason for contacting you is to let u know that we have one of the most comprehensive games collections for the Xbox console. Therefore if you win this auction you will be able to buy very cheap games. Our prices are 4 pounds per game or 10 for 30 pounds, a 1.50 p+p charge applies to each order for 1st class recorded delivery. We are involved in many other aspects of the Xbox console as well. For example we recently sold an xbox console with 103 top games for 225 pounds and that was including p+p. The buyer was very happy with his purchase as he realised that, taking into account the cost of a modded Xbox, it works out at 50 pence per game. Anyway, let us know if you are interested in games and we can send u a list. We also have a good collection of DVD's
Got this from a seller because I bid on Yaka's box. This guy has done auctions including pirated games. Now shall I report him or not... Thing is he doesnt state clearly he is offering copied, but its not difficult to assume that looking at his selling history.

Reported them anyway. See your xbrick is going for quite a high price. How much did it actually cost you?

Yeah I was going to offload my old xbrick games a couple of months back but never got round to it, hardly seems worth it now. Need to sell the brick itself, but don't want to do it till I've got the 360. Will not get much for it then :/

Bank transfer is easy, just give the buyer your sort code and account number, wait 4-5 working days for the money to clear, and post the item off to the buyer.

Phone your bank first, make sure the funds have definitely cleared before you post it off.

Well I've just sold my xbox, so I have nothing to play these on. And they are not-compatible with the 360.

10p listing day tomorrow.

Are there any cheaper options to send a 3kg box within the UK than RM Standard Parcels? It's gonna be about £7 to send it, seems a bit much to me.

List them - if they're knackered when you test them, its only cost you 10p and you can cancel the auction.

I bid on some stuff that ends in about a week then saw it on buy it now for the same price, so got them instead. Is there any way to remove my bids on the first items? I can't see a withdraw option. What do I do? This was my first time on ebaaaay.

Whenever I've done that I just send a polite email to the seller asking if they wouldn't mind cancelling my bid. Although I usually ask them before I complete a similar trade since the seller who you're asking to cancel your bid may see this other sale and refuse to cancel your bid just to spite you. Fingers crossed.
