i only killed 2 dragons i think, got to the "im nearly there, fuck it , ill end it " point in the story, can still go on playing after

also the final mission, when you click the map icon pops up a "what you need to do ACCEPT / DECLINE " as usual, and it has a "this will end the campaign story when you do it " warning on the quest info so you wont blunder into it :)

I actually started again after my original start of a play through. First time round i was on normal, kill hinterlands and crestwood dragons and had just got the stronghold part of the storyline. Was using a rogue archer and was interesting but for some reason I suddenly decided that I wanted to play a mage as a main character so restarted on nightmare with one.

22hrs or so in, and just got to the stronghold again but not killed any dragons yet. I did pop into the area at lvl 10 but when Blackwell got hit by a fireball at the entrance and almost died I decided that maybe it wasnt the best time to try. lol.

Im now lvl 11, but think I wait till lvl 15 or so, have specialisations and actually made some fire resistant gear for everyone. Need to spend time figuring out what i need to craft equipment I want and go for a collection run. But xmas shopping, family time and coping with other stuff means Im not playing as much as need to do that. Sure in the xmas holiday i will spend a lot of time on it. 10 days at the inlaws, gonna take my whole pc unit with me! Especially as I am hoping the wife has got me the Razor Chroma peripherals I want, so need to test them out. lol

started a new Elf Mage on Casual, as i want to whizz through, check the racist /mage hate options, sex0r different people and whatnot , as my first was a 2H warrior

then im going to leave it for a month, then try a Sword + Board nightmare run through. need to work out party build for that though

I been using a tank/mage/mage/mage setup for a laugh. It great for control until you meet cold resistant ones. I need to respec everyone but couldnt be bothered till i got specialisations. just unlocked them, and I made my mage a knight enchanter.

I'm thinking i run tank/KE mage/Rift Mage/Rogue for awhile though tempted to drop the rogue for necromancer but tbh i wanted to save Dorian for another run through so honestly dont know.
Looking like it could be time to gear up and try the Hinterlands dragon for a laugh soon :D

I am in the middle of changing my mage setup. Currently going the 2 mage/1rogue/1tank ... KE mage (lvl 12), and Rift mage. Fiddling with spec's as to what best but gonna get some gear first i think before i worry about that as im so poorly geared it funny. That said I almost killed the hinterland dragon but messed it up at 50% .

But i did run 3 shields and it was funny. Really helped the tank in early stages of nightmare mode when they had sod all protection

im trying to work out a good party build for a long-term nightmare 'finish all the achievements' run. which needs to cover all needed skills / damage types AND not havign any party members i want to stab in the face.. then i need to work out what i can play :(

i want the stone golem back :(

The stone golem rocked!

Anyways, when i was running 3 mages I had to tac-cam alot. Early on i had no aoe aggro management and had to stop them wasting barriers so meant manual usage of it. Was madness but a laugh. Mind you I was trying to do lvl 12 areas of Hinterland at lvl 4 so that could be part the reason. :D
Would be much easier now but I decided I would go with Varric/Blackwell/Solas. Thought I would get a playthrough with them out the way as makes it easier to decide on a group for next time. Thinking of an all melee one but having that annoying KE bitch in the team. She basically melee afteral (vivianne!?), and means i will have a revive/heal/barrier available.

Killed my first Nightmare mode dragon in Crestwood. Guess I should go back to hinterlands and deal with that one now I know I can cope. Mind you I would say crestwood easier as you have no adds to worry about and I noticed you could dispell the AoE rings he puts on your people.
Im actually still using pretty poor gear, but I do have a decent staff now on my inquisitor KE that gives me guard on hit. Wish I had it when I took on Ishmael at lvl12. Now THAT was a challenge. I spent 20minutes running around with either Solas or Inquisitor being only one alive trying to rezz everyone else up. Eventually got everyone to die in same place so could do a revive/barrier combo on everyone so they didnt instantly die on rez.

i would caution against all-melee as between "look i can fly" and "omg i cant get around this box" i think you might have dps problems ;)

Well i probably knock it down a notch to hard instead of nightmare for it just to have a laugh with the setup. But honestly havent decided. Blackwell cant be in it as using him at the moment so it be Cass, me and bull as warriors and vivianne as the KE. Should be easy enough when dont need to be worried about people having aggro :D

Fairly nice pic of Iron Bull getting his shit kicked while Sera tries to save him (prolly cos she's still waiting for some intros to hot horned ladies).

This was in tac view btw. I could pan and zoom the cam all the way around and lay the shot out right as I wanted. Pretty awesome tbh.

here's another nice one of my party kicking the crap out of some red templar. poor guy got hit by two different offensive spells and a rather nasty arrow. Bull looks like he wasn't paying any attention but in reality he was keeping a sneaky templar rogue busy. that thing he's packing is the Legion of the Dead maul. I really like this Emerald Graves map. Trees, and varied terrain heights, sweeeet :)

more sexy pics to bore you :)

Like I said, *really* loving the Emerald Graves <3

While romping about in the woods, I found a greater Mistral dragon. Bull felt his masculinity being threatened, was compelled to take action, and smacked the lizard in the face with his mace. As you can guess, the dragon took quite some offence to this and proceeded to eat the entire party -.-

Anyone found any decent 1 handers or schematics? I tried looking on some fan sites but it seems to be filled with 12 year old cry babies making it hard to figure out anything coherent

Im lvl 12 shield warrrior and using a neat dwarven mace but wouldnt mind a shiny sword or axe!

Welp, not reading much of the thread(spoilers and all ;) ), but did get it for xmas and played for 20h or so(not that far along) and as i dallied around i realised;

Yeah, i deffo need to finish 1-2 before hopping into this. Not because it's required, just that it's definetaly going to be a better experience when you have experience/knowledge of the games behind all of it. It's that nagging loot/lorewhore feeling in the back of your head that's making me do it really.

Not to mention a 1-2-3 binge on any game is reaaaaally good :p

Also realised the added bonus of "when i'm done with 1 and maybe 2, there will be dlc 'n stuff for 3". And maybe even get a better computer by then since, well, while DA3 runs good, it could run beautiful from what i peeked at ultra settings.

Most of the lore from DA1 and 2 exists in 3 as collectibles. :)

Yeah there's nothing stopping from playing DA3 direct, i just have this D&D habit of making extra stories/lineages/etc for my characters. Like with fallout, going from 1 to vegas it's the same bloodline so to speak and skyrim lightly links to oblivion.

There's a few things in DA3 that made it easy to go back and "restart", will be a more immersive experience(for me personally).

Probably won't read replies to spoiler, but to explain above;

For those going with mage option
I mean, time travel and andraste, awesome way to link games that shouldn't be linked at all :p

Can even say that the peek at DA3 was a future that could happen etc etc
