Well, to answer the content; one mans theory and we know theories :D

To answer the topic; Don't think it's a yes/no in my opinion. Universe has always existed as universe is everything there is. Even with nothing, the nothing would be the universe ;)

No. To do that, it (a god) would require existence.

Even though I am a level 11 athiest I think that question is a
little bigger than Mr Hawkings.
he talks of 'rules' like gravity, these are not rules, we invented the idea of rules
and they hardly explain how things exist at all or even how there is anywhere for things to exist.

What about a simple 'I don't know' answer? :)

I agree his presumptions seem fairly weak in this case although to be fair, most things he says are pretty hard to sum up in an online newspaper article.

I'm neutral on this subject as I haven't got the foggiest...

assuming S. Hawkings says: "God didn't create the Universe" Does he confirm God exists?

1st try to demonstrate that imo lol

P.S. what about a "I don't know" choice in the poll? :D

lol I am an athiest but I'm also open the to the possibility that I may be wrong and there might be a god...however, I really don't care and tbh no one can say absolutely yes or no because no one knows.

It could of been created by a giant easter bunny, no one can prove or disprove that theory Oo

I love science but hate the way scientists and people of religious persuasion both deal in absolutes it is either their way or no way and they never admit that they just don't know, that whether it is religious or science when it comes to stuff like this it is just all hypothesis.

No, I did, but I unfortunately I misplaced the instructions. It was way more complicated than your average IKEA flat pack.

Aye I know what you mean, I just respect what they can think but i don't try to convence anyone being religious or pure science supporter, maybe there is a god, but imho, can't be that one church try to "sell", 'cause in that case he would not let innocent people have unfair disgraces or evil people to success everyday, this God (if it ever existed) is more on a neutral plane and let everyone live their lives, even if they harm themselves, so no, he's not so worried about us all, not in this life plane, in case he exists, but this is just my personal PoV; I hope there exists life after death because I really need alcohol, sex and videogames for good lol :drink:

Actually I'm agnostic, not atheist, so I need a "Don't Care" option on the poll.

Then again, there's more proof of doubt on the teapot theory then on god.

God simply is or isn't, no proof either way.

There's plenty of proof how a teapot can't be on that orbit :p

The teapot ios tangible, god isn't. We know where that teapot originated(china teapot none the less), so we can deduct where it must've come from to get there.

So did space launches have china on them, or not?

Was there a chinashop at a volcanic eruption(capable of launching it there)?

And so on.

Like i said, there's more proof of how it can't be there, then there is of god. With god there's no proof neither which way.

EDIT: That pink unicorn thing is more towards god.

No, it wasn't launched there. It is just there because I have faith that it is there. What more proof to its existence do you need???

There is just as much proof for its non existence as there is for gods non existence, therefore to use the logic of someone religious it must be there.

I get that point, i do, just that there's more proof of it not possibly being there then of god as the teapot is tangible. Also more ways to prove it is there. :p

It's an object, an item, something you can wrap your hands around and call Mr Scruffles. God being(the popular belief) what god is, there isn't that possibility.

I'm not saying the teapot can be proven, or disproven, but there's a possibility(even if miniscule) that it can be, hiwch is more then can be said about god(well, without god popping up and saying hello).

As someone would say about religion; you have to be able to question these things :D

Yes.

Science is full of shit. "lets invent dark matter just to plug the holes in our theories, even though there is no evidence of it"

is that really any different to believing in a supreme being? No.

I know you are just trolling marc; but anyway, dark matter is a theory, as are all things in science. They are true until a better explanation is found or proof is found to confirm or deny the theory. Science has no facts that are not proven. Religion on the other hand.. well, when was the last time you saw proof of the sky fairy?

Where are the facts that the big bang created the universe? Where are the facts to tell us where the gasses etc, that created the big bang came from? Well the gasses were already there, cry the boffins. Where are the facts for that?

Look at some of the "theories" from people like Einstein, Hamilton,Newton and Shroedinger, theories that people take as granted, as being correct, when in fact they all contradict each other and for one to be correct, would mean the others are impossible. There are so many holes in science, that, as I said, they had to make up dark matter to plug the gap.

Fred Burnham, a well respected science historian admitted that.."The scientific community is prepared to consider the idea that God created the universe a more respectable hypothesis today than at any time in the last 100 years"
