So I logged on today after the maintenance(Or wtf is was last night). And it seems all my gold is gone(Got 0), but still got all my equipment! Wonder if this is a glitch or if I just got scammed.

Chosen that sounds like bad aids :(
Sent a mail to blizzard, to make sure that it is not a glitch. Not like I had a lot of money tho(Most spent on crafting and upgrading equipment) it was about 40-50k! But I guess you cannot be to careful any longer.

People complaining about Keitanz (I understand - if he's not even got the game why is he so vociferous about complaining here) should admit he's got a point. The ones of you say "there's no problem" are ignoring the problems that people on this very forum have.

D3 is hackable. Accounts are being stolen and fucked about with. Blizzard have fucked up royally and it's THEIR fault. Period.

If Barclays online banking was getting hacked left right and centre you can't imagine most people blaming anyone other than Barclays. Just because D3 is a game doesn't mean Bliz shouldn't have good security.

Well i personally am not saying "there's no problem", just saying "it's understandable and doesn't bother me". Bit of a difference :D

Mostly it's annoying 'cause people who don't play whine.

On a more related note;

Still HC chars alive, just finished act 2 with demon hunter(solo). Hands...shaking.

Like I said earlier in the thread, all I have seen is people saying they have been hacked and it isn't their fault. I have seen no actual proof that the game itself, or the servers are being hacked.

Blizzard have generally got very good security, I remember once my WoW account got locked because I happened to log on to it from a different ISP...I had just changed from BT to sky.

Edit. Official post

They just wouldn't lie about that, with the real money auction house coming soon it would spell doom for all their future plans if they were caught out lying about it. Blizzard don't do small time, they want millions to play Titan, WoW, SC2, Diablo 3.

Well is there any proof that it hasn't been hacked? there isn't really any proof on either side at the moment.

Even blizzard customer support is overloaded due to the amount of stuff going down :(

Tbh though since the passwords are not case sensitive then that makes it a LOT easier to brute-force passwords..

Blizzard can just go fuck themselves. Stupid morons, without that fucking online part I would a: Not be scammed and b: Not get that fucking stupid error on hardcore which disconnected me and killed of my character.

The difference is that I own the game and play it daily. Stupid glitches like that should NOT appear in a game that have been planned for so long, and there should've been a off-line part in the game and nothing of this would've happened. All in all it comes down to Blizzard "trying" to avoid that any pirated versions gets out.

I have been very calm when it comes to this game, but when things like this ruin what would've been a good game experience for me. It pisses me off

When you buy something it should work from the moment you get it. If anything else you buy a defect items, you return it in get the money back or B: you get a new one(which is impossible in this case).

Diablo III is very much an online game, most of the game logic is hosted by Blizzard. You should not have purchased the game if you wanted to be able to play completely offline from the "net". Expect this to be the norm moving forward.

First off I never imagined that the game would be locked to online mode, as I thought it would be to a similar system of Diablo II. I can sort of understand that some game developers choose to add online verifications to some game, as it helps out a little with getting rid of pirates. But I do not really see the reason to force everyone to play a single-player game on-ine at all times(I am not talking about if you wanted to co-op or not, as you obviously would have to log in then).

I am sorry but did you read the specs of the game before you bought it?

As I said, a lot of the games today requires Internet to be able to login, so I didn't put much thought into it. It's not like I am totally against being online, but when they can't even keep their servers stable making countless of people loosing their HC character because of Blizzards own fault it bugs me. And a off-line mode could've been a option for players who do not have interest in playing with others anyway.

It looks like it's going to take a few months/years at least to have a playable pirated version of D3... WoW took years to be fully emulated ..

Then you're being overly pedantic.

There are forum members saying they have been hacked and that their wives accounts have been hacked.

You'll never see "proof" - because you don't work for Blizzard. You're just denying what's happening.

Edit: To be fair tho - Keitanz should chill - you've not even got the game Keitanz, and you're giving Liverpool haters more ammo (and they don't need any justification for their hate m8 - fair or not)

Well the chinese wouldn't bother emulation D3, seeing that they are already playing Diablo V XD

Actually Deebs - I agree with (some of) what you're saying but disagree with the sentiment.

I expect online-only to be the norm going forward and I fully understand that it is a totally retrograde step for consumers.

Gaming doesn't need always-online. Never did.

What did you lose? If it's a clear cut server error, it might be possible to get the cahracter back from customer service(same as with hacked problems).
