Ok - I give up - how do I get rid of my house so I an sell the deed back to the housing merchant? Any ideas? <phew>

AFAIK the only reason why its possible to sell the deed back to a merchant is if you upgrade to a larger house youll get the deed for the old (smaller/cheaper) one back.

Same cant be done in reverse.
