He should just go silent for now because nobody believes a word he says any more regarding release.
Pretty much this - the fact that some modders have ported DayZ mod over to Arma III should send alarm bells ringing for Dean Hall because if they continue fixing it up on the Arma III engine and Dean keeps delaying Stand Alone then DayZ Standalone has some fierce competition.... with itself.
If I had to be brutally honest i'd rather see the Arma III DayZ Mod succeed at this point.
Thing is, personally, I have pretty huge performance issues on the Arma III version ( I know my PC is shit ) but I'd like to think the Stand Alone is focusing on performance since Arma isn't really known for it's performance.
God knows what Standalone is focusing on, at this point it may as well be focused on helping Dean Hall climb another mountain because its clearly not coming out any time soon
To be quite honest...
The guy brought a mod out on a game, and then quite quickly decided to make it stand alone, think how long these massive titles are in production for prior to your average joe having knowledge of their existence, I mean, when you see a film being made, you're not like OMG WHERE IS IT RAH RAH...
I think the reason he's vague is because he doesn't want people to anticipate it's release, he wants people to know what he's getting up to... He wants it to be perfect on release, doesn't want to it to hit a perfect time for the optimum amount of sales.
I respect the guy 'cos of it.

Dayz looks absolutely gorgeous on ARMA3 animations are all very smooth and the inventory is based on ARMA3 too which is pretty good. A new patch is being released today fix some stability issues.

|GITS| number 1 server, if you like PVP, it is awesome
Yea, i wouldn't mind servers with lots of vehicles if the maps were made properly, having maps where its guaranteed the survivors will spawn at the coast tho just prompts the bro-twats to patrol up and down the road in vehicle convoys maps where you have random start locations are the best ones, you could start on the coast, in the woods behind a tree or in the supermarket - totally random.
Found a big Ural..earlier after about 30mins i found a clan at the NE airfield with a bus and 2 cars... hilarity followed soon after as i rammed their cars and bus setting them on fire, killed one of the clan the rest ran into the control tower and logged off.
Couple of screenies.

Lol, can't stand people that log off when fights break out.. why even play a survival game if your just going to ninja log to avoid conflict
And fuck off to the first person that says "To survive ho ho ho ho ho!"
