its another "risk" campaign , no story
the dark eldar and SoB are ok, but werent very well...balanced.
and the "NEW AND SHINY" units are aircraft, except they arent, they are hovering things that use a floor space so push thru units and stuff sometimes, and look cack and dont work properly

The problem with Soulstorm is that with the open ended 'risk' nature you don't feel compelled to finish it with more than one race, I finished it with Chaos and I really don't feel like finishing it with the other factions, I like the extra MP maps but thats about it.

Finally watched it, was pretty good. They always said that they couldn't do the nids in DOW, so maybe in DOW2... I'd love it if it's true!

Its guna a be a bit differnt this time round, the game focus's on individual squads and using wargear to enhance them, instead of base building. Control Points are still going to be a main part of the game.

Tyranids, so very Space Crusade. I liked the gameplay trailer, all very organic and scary. The movie trailer is awesome though, makes you want to see a full length feature rather than just a couple of minutes of CGI plugging a game

I have been playing a hell of a lot of dawn of war and even coh in anticipation of this.

I even purchased soulstorm -which is no where as bad as people make out. The new races add more to multiplayer and the campaign is fun.

I seriously hope they do this right. The whole base building aspect of DoW didn't really make sense to me as it should be based on the TT games.

However, things look to be going good with DoW2 so... Another one for the 'things to do to waste time instead of studying' list lol

So, I've got the game. It wanted to install steam(fine, already got it) it wants to install Games For Windows Live(never used it before but as I'm on Vista I guess I've already got it) it wants me to make an account on GFWL...I also need to redeem a code through it to play Multiplayer and access this pre-order thing I got from Play, I click Redeem Code which seems to want me to put in billing information before I do that, I put in some info and cancel when it asks me to put in credit card info as thats taking the piss, then when I click Redeem Code it goes to the code entry page at last and if I:

Put in the Play Pre order thing I get: "The code cannot be redeemed because the offer is not available in your region, or the offer has expired."

Put in the MP thing I get "Please enter a valid code."

This is getting silly.

Hmm, it seems I need another application installed to get to the right Market Place.

edit - Ok so I've got the Play Pre Order thing code done but the MP one still says it's not valid. MP does seem to be working alright so far, searched for players, etc.

You need the keycode printed on the manual or case, that is what it is asking you for when you enter MP.

few things

lvl cap is 20
you only get 6 total squads (tac,dev,commander,scout,dread,assault)
if you want terminator armour for the assault/tactical/devastators, you need to train for it, and you cant fill all the trees in 20 lvls so you might want to plan it a bit


up to last mission atm on 3rd difficulty, loving the story. nice things u get have a reason rather than just held back for sake of it

done last 1/4 of game with term force commander, term assault marines and term devastators, and the dread.

oh and for those that want such things, if your quick there may be keys left on thq-games.com/uk if you register u get more wargear

The bar on the scoring seems set a bit high - especially speed. Apart from defend missions I rarely get more than 1 or 2 stars on speed.

Had perfect score for keeping my guys alive til i ran into shuriken cannons >.<

Also a bit disappointed you cant customize all your guys, rather than just the squad leaders
