Mythic has confirmed that theres another expansion pack on its way.
The comments were made in this developer's thread on VN about imperator, mythics incomming romans in space mmorpg.


I just hope that mythic isnt going down the road of The Sims and Everquest where you just get money making expansion after expansion, with only petty improvements.

Check out the other threads going around on vn too, the new class thread annoys me a lot, damn Americans all want to see ninjas and samurai walking around in Albion. :(

Logical step? Raise the level cap from 50 to say 75 :))

Raising the lvl cap would mean having to raise all current lvl 50s to that lvl, unless the lvls leading to 50 stay as hard.

And I'd hardly call SI a "petty" improvement.

They should make sure that this game is totally bugless before fannying about with new classes etc that bring in a whole batch of bugs. Chanter los bug being top of the list, as well as various animist bugs >,<

Sorting out the existing classes would also be nice ^^

um... ist the chanter bug fixed in an upcoming patch?? 1.59 or something maybe?? not sure, but i thought i read about it somewhere....

And as for making DAoC bugless... you tell me a company that can make 'bugless' software, and I'll show you a company that sold it's soul to Lucifer...

I don't think I have ever had a piece of software that didn't need upgrading or patching due to bugs...

talen_sun, microsoft products are 100% bug free honest, all functions that appear to be bugs are merely features to keep the more advanced users entertained as they attempt to solve the "problems" caused by them (though of course they arent problems because they werent bugs in the first place but features)

Nor would I, I was calling The Sims petty improvements and hoping mythic doesn't do the same.

Well...if, when, and all that, they get the most of the exsisting problems fixed, I wouldnt mind seeing realms based on the Roman Empire (tons of class possibilities there) and/or the Egyptian empire (another "race" with a ton of possible classes) and/or maybe some other middleage period.

But, mostly I would like to see the exsisting problems adressed ofc.

Firstly they need to fix the SI engine before embarking on yet another expansion project.

The major promises and hopes for SI was decent game engine capable of coping with 4fg+ vs 4fg+ battles, no more graphics bugs, no more slowdown over time, and faster.

Now I haven't upgraded my system - I have a 1.2Ghz Althon (non-AlthonXP) 512Mb of Ram and a GeForce ti4200. Not a slow machine by any stretch of the imagination.

Whenever I enter castle sauvage during "prime time" I get yellow frame rate. I get major lag in RvR when groups meet and battles start. I still get graphics glitches. The only good thing I can say is that I don't get slowdown over time anymore - yay.

I wish mythic had spent there time making a game engine that would cope with 150 people on a relic raid. Or even just 4fg sieging a defended keep would be nice. If they had spent all the time that they spent making pretty water effects and sunsets etc. and put that into improving the network protcol / engine so that it could really cope with large numbers of people - then I would have been happy to pay for the expansion.

As it is I feel ripped off - I will not be buy another expansion from mythic for this game. They promised playable large scale battles - this still isn't true. You can't even run 3fg to a keep siege without laging into mobs :(

Fit the class bugs and game engine bugs before developing more addons that are not worth the money :rolleyes:

Whos gonna need daoc wit the likes of eq2, swg and wow coming out.

I still waiting them to sort out classes. Pretty much nearly every single class needs some work. A few only minor things need done (heroes and stag when on horses etc) other classes need a lot of work done (archers, animists, bm's ;p )

aye far worse graphics and a full pvp based gaming system with characters so varied that the least variable race in it (dwarves) have 1024 different possible character specialisations.

A pvp system so balanced that all but 2 classes can heal themselves to some degree, level = nothing, skill % and how you use those skills is the major factor in determining combat and levelling takes 4 weeks for most people to max their character... because SB is better planned and better built sorry.

I played DaoC for the first 8 months of its life through closed beta, open beta and retail before I realised - you have no endgame.

While you are showing off leet armour and counting realm points - in beta SB we've been building a full player owned city and fighting against a rival city state guild. I've seen cities levelled, guilds becaome homeless, found new nations and in their turn burn other cities while our members look forward to ships, natural resources and a meta plot that ties the whole game into a definite end game cycle.

Yes, DaoC generally looks better. Thats all :/

Im looking forward to SWG. I know many people just dismiss it as Jedi this and Han Solo that, but personaly I want to be a farmer and mayor.

1) higher level cap
2) 1 more race per realm
3) more classes
4) more SPECS current specs are VERY limiting
5) perhaps another new land
6) gfx fine as it is although more unique mobs skins in the old lands would be good
7) more weapon types
8) PARTICLE EFFECTS
9) weapon dies that can be used on CRAFTED weapons
10) more armour skins
11) couple more trades would be nice, that are unique such as an architect (making buildings), scribe (maps and stuff)
12) expansions of original areas would be nice
13) more rewards for taking keeps DF and xp bonus just dont cut it
14) better generated names, even some generated names have been taken.
15) more individualisation on characters, 3 sizes? pfft should have more, looks should be changable, ive seen in project entropia (MMORPG that never got to a good start) thats the faces/skin solor and almost everything else is customisable

i want horses.....cavalry combat would add a new dimension to the game....one thing thats never been tackled so far

tbh cavalry option would give all classes a boost, though perhaps balance the game further away from universal balance and more towards those with buffbots and horses, and those without buffbots and horses. on the plus side, could have horse races around the bog :)

unless of course you rented horses for a cost from a merchant outside of a friendly keep, tk's and realm gates included, and they only have a limited range before you lose them, such as 20000 map units, allowing you to traverse up to 1/3rd of a zone in either way from the keep you bought them from. this would give a use of actually holding more keeps.

even better make there be some kind of gem that allows you to use horses that drops from a high high mob ie legion, and then anyone with one of the items can use horses as mentioned above from the frontier keeps (and of course from towns in realm, though the in-realm horses would be unlimited travel, but disappear if you try to take them through a realm gate). if they come from legion this would make a second reason for gettiing keeps, to open df to get more horsie gems :D

dout they will bring in ninjas, all the monsters have somthin to do with the story telling of alb/hib/mid, thats one of the main reasons we dont have Orcs :)

I just want them to rethink the whole of RvR to give us more stuff to do in it. With the addition of SI there are now more reasons to distance ourselves from the frontier. Maybe redesign it so all three frontiers form one large RvR area that ppl port into at set locations and you actually have to cross your own frontier to reach the enemy rather than porting straight into enemy lands. Remove milegates, add cliffs and valleys, more natural barriers in general to break up the RvR and create more defensive locations. Rather than have 3 almost identical frontiers, have one large one with 21 keeps scattered about within it, so that there is more of a feel of a raging war with ever changing boundries. Add more seige weaponry, maybe some different keep layouts/sizes for more variety.

firstly i doubt they will destroy the current frontiers, however i would love to see all 3 parts of the frontiers joined up. marfach in a small way helped to do this, but not enough. if there was perhaps a no-mans land introduced beyond the milegates, joining each up with another large (4-6 zone) wasteland with dotted keeps etc it might be more of what you are asking for. if i understand right though, when you zone you are changing the server that you are on, and so if all three realms were combined in this way then it would i guess come over as one realm alltogether, unless the current milegates were removed and replaced with, for example, caves that zoned to the no-mans land, in the style of hte summoner hall portals. some sort of system for easier ressing might be needed. the nomansland would also be idea for having large monster spawns, even keeps which are originally owned by very high level monsters, and which the mobs attack from time to time in addition to players (cue shouts of "BLOODY FORMORIANS MORNING RAID, THIS IS NOT PRIMETIME"), anyway :) some more 53cp :)

Maby some "random" created mobs. Mine with mobs and few places where you could dig some engridient that you can use to make metals and ofc a tradeskill that would allow you to transform engridient to metals and so on. Maby some new way to make money, example being a "lumberjack" and really go smack trees down with axe(shouldnt require axe spec or abolity to wear this "special tool"), tree falls down, you start breaking it apart so you can sell it to merchant or something. Maby a land that would increase when needed and you could build your own/or guilds house/castle/keep there and buy/make furniture etc. to it. Trees that really grow, maby plants that would grow too and they would be used on as alchemy materials.

Maby would be nice to take armors off and go diving or something nice, swim among corals and fish etc.

Maby ability of having sea warfare with ships?

Cloaks should be changed so you could put hood on or off(to your back)



Increasing lvl cap isnt a good choice imo.
