I had a quick look and Bethnals right in the middle of it down there, you dont have much green space or any kind of the public privacy I take for granted.
And no I wouldnt drive to York..that was just a joke, but Im certainly happy with extending the notion of local, I dont come with 200ft of anyone while out on my bike, the only extra risk is ending up having an accident and the consequences for the help I would need.
I count that as the least asshole conduct in a long list.

Just before Xmas, my old Mum was one of the first to be vaccinated in our area. I get a call from her after she had the job and am thinking it's a bit bloody noisy. So I enquire where are you, 'Oh thought we would go for a wander round the market'

Literally the last weekend before Xmas and she decides it's a good time to go for a mooch around the local market. Mind Blown

Alternatively, stop being a pedantic arsehole constantly looking for loopholes and instead make an effort for the good of the community and wider population. It's nothing to do with what's enforceable in court, if you follow the guidance (and the spirit of the guidance), you will make a contribution to getting this fucking virus under control. If you don't and instead launch into a monologue about "your rights" or what does or doesn't constitute "local" or why you don't think the measures are necessary or why you don't think you should have to wear a mask, you're a selfish arsehole.

My common fucking sense suggests to me that I will spread less of a disease I don't have by driving 10 miles down the road to Cannock Chase where there are few people, rather than walking from my front door into Stafford town centre, where I will meet loads of people. As there is nothing in the rules to stop this, and Staffordshire Police were actually encouraging this approach last time round, I think I will stick with that plan plsthxbye.

Mind I've been out every day this week since lockdown started - can't say the roads have got any quieter. I'm guessing most people have got past the hiding behind the sofa whilst the working classes bring them things, and just want to crack on as much as possible.

On the surface yes. But the risk of you having an accident in your car or other event while driving is greater which will involve more people helping you. Therefore the risk of spreading is higher than you just going for a walk starting from your front door.

8:00, start working
18:00-19:00 finish, but it's not really finished because I am still sat in my living room
00:00 go to bed
Repeat, for 9 months.

I haven't been anywhere more than 5 miles away from home since May, I go out perhaps once a week to the CO-OP to get a loaf of bread and some milk, that's it and the odd walk around the village and surrounding footpaths.

All these fucking arseholes that say 'well it's all a bit vague, isn't it? Let's just do what we want!' Well fucknuts, you are the ones spreading this shit while the sensible among us are actually suffering through being shut in at home. Chances are I won't get it, not now that we have finally shut the schools, so I don't need to worry about the wife catching it, but their idiocy is stopping me from being able to go anywhere, and I think the way we are going we will be lucky to be even close to normality by June.

At this point I actually hope those that don't seem to care about it do catch it, I really do. Perhaps they will then stay the fuck in and stop spreading thier shit everywhere.

I'll assume during lockdown you're avoiding stairs, electricity, knives, gardening, any sort of DIY etc etc? All equally likely to result in an accident that requires medical attention.

I know - that's why I used it.

Plod has no right to be making up bullshit - but the reaction of people on here is completely understandable. These two could easily have gone for a walk from their doors - that way they'd have been obeying the spirit of the lockdown as well as the letter of the law.

I firmly lay blame with the Tories though - they should have things spelled out very clearly. In Wales it's straightforward - I'm allowed to exercise from my door (and that's legal). Makes things nice and simple.

I feel for people in London, that's harsh, but that's the nature of coronavirus. For a couple of birds from Ashby? Nah, struggling to sympathise with them other than the fact that the police they met were fucking tools - like all police.

It's not "don't do risky things" - it's "minimise risk". You don't minimise risk by doing risky things.

Personally I've a lot of sympathy with your Cannock idea. However, Cannock Chase is a MTB haven and they're all go-proed up the kazoo. I've seen video footage posted of people cramming into parking spaces and almost coming to blows during the 'rona because the only thing people want to do is get outside to places that, previously, they never seemed to take any interest in.
