So how is there any point in doing any of that over and above just you stay indoors1) Nobody is getting tested.
2) If you were, and you were clear, you still stay indoors.

No, testing if I have the virus right now will do fuckall for the general population. It should only be done for the key workers/health/care etc and it needs to be every day.@Deebs - we're not testing pre OR post OR NHS staff properly.
Testing in the UK is pretty much a fantasy scenario atm, which is the worst of all worlds.
Unlike South Korea, who nailed it.
Social distancing is largely being followed as far as I'm aware. But are we going to keep that up until the Autumn or beyond, like government reports have stated, or should we lock people down hard, test and contact-trace?
Yes, social distancing will work short term. But there will be no long-term substitute to proper testing.
Or we'll fail, lots will die... IMO.
Because you can contact-trace those who test positive without it being an unmanageable shitshow. So how is there any point in doing any of that over and above just you stay indoors
I do all of that but as per my previous message others do not. I am a key worker but could be called into the office and pick up the virus. That means I cannot stay indoors. I also need to shop.1) Nobody is getting tested.
2) If you were, and you were clear, you still stay indoors.
What, are you hugging everyone you meet? Or are you keeping 2m from any passerby, keeping your contact points to a minimum and ensuring you wash your hands after shopping?
See you spread misinformation.1) Nobody is getting tested.

The numbers in the NHS ARE pitiful though and that matters.See you spread misinformation.
You said "Nobody is getting tested". That is a blatant lie. People ARE getting tested, just not in the numbers that the hysterical and MSM want. Stop spreading bullshit.
WTF you doing popping out to get bread tbpfh.Social distancing is not being followed, I live in Hampshire, it is either 1st or 2nd in England for most confirmed cases of Covid-19. I popped out to get bread, saw two neighbours talking over a brickwall less than 2ft apart. Went into a shop, luckily not many people but still people came within 2 metres of me (I was picking stuff from shelf) and I had to tell them to get back.
Agreed but saying "Nobody is getting tested" is spreading misinformation and should not be happening. The numbers in the NHS ARE pitiful though and that matters.
FUCKING HELL. How do you know today was not my 2 week shop?WTF you doing popping out to get bread tbpfh.
Shop every two weeks. It's the touching of surfaces, then your mouth and eyes, which is the biggie.
Cashpoints and shops (people picking up produce then putting it back, for example).
Yeah, airborne, if people are coughing. But shared surfaces are where it's at.
They're not.See you spread misinformation.

Was it?FUCKING HELL. How do you know today was not my 2 week shop?
You said nobody which is factually incorrectThey're not.
Miniscule numbers of NHS staff have been tested. Miniscule.
Not general public. Front line workers.
It's a disgrace.
Sorry, everyone is a little worked up. Not my 2 week shop but I needed bread and milk (it had gone off). There is a but though, if the shop is busy I do not go in. Period. I go back home and try another time. Was it?
Don't be so touchy.
2000 out of 500,000 is 0.004%.You said nobody which is factually incorrect![]()
You sound like @Job. Let me ask you, is 1 > 0?2000 out of half a million front line staff.
That qualifies as nobody.
Testing is a fantasy in our backwards-ass country
They are testing more than 2000 people a day. Don't just turn it around to the NHS which has more than 500,000 workers.2000 out of 500,000 is 0.004%.
You round that up to 0%.
0% is "nobody"![]()

Seriously? You believe that the UK Government has only test 2000 people in total so far since the start of this virus outbreak? No.
They've tested 2000 people so far.
If they were doing 2000 people a day then they only started today.
I stand by "nobody" and "the UK is a disgrace" - because it's a true and accurate picture of reality.
See amendment - posts coming faster than I can type.Seriously? You believe that the UK Government has only test 2000 people in total so far since the start of this virus outbreak?
Our local tescos is one in one out, everything else is as usual.Generally speaking people aren't picking things up and putting them back, and the supermarkets have pretty much taken loose fruit and veg and baked goods off the shelves and packaged them for this very reason. And in my local supermarket everyone is given disposable gloves and sanitiser at the door. Supermarkets are manageable if sensible precautions are taken and some people are going to have to visit them because there simply isn't enough capacity in the online delivery fleets to deliver to 24m households even every two weeks.
That's better. I agree they need to step it up. Undone my facepalm you scouse cuntSee amendment - posts coming faster than I can type.
Tell me that's not a joke.

Yeh @Scouse corrected his statement to reflect NHS staff which I also corrected to state they have more than 500,000 staff.2000 NHS staff apparently. Out of 1.3 million.

Still it is ridiculous. Stop testing anyone who does not work or is receiving care in a hospital right now. Concentrate on those within a hospital or a health/care worker isolated at home.
I know it is hard but the hysterical and MSM want testing for have I got it right now to be done.I agree with prioritizing those self isolating at home, so they can return to the front line - but in terms of front line staff I can see some issues. For eg you test a nurse before her shift, and she's clear - awesome. But do you test again when she's finished her shift? If not how do you know whether she picked it up on that shift or not?
That's also assuming test results are available immediately, which from what I have read they are not - more like 1 - 2 days.
