Unfortunately, being a fat mouthed cunt is not an offence. But assault is, and grabbing a fella is basically assault. It's not going to be a prison sentence, but they should expect a caution.

I reported him for something the other day, can't remember what though. Got a notification saying it had broken their rules though, which is rare for someone with a decent amount of followers, so must've been bad.

Is this a bit over the top? It was a bit unpleasant but just a couple of drunken idiots who wanted a picture. They weren't being abusive or anything. I think his reaction is what makes it look so bad, but you can obviously understand why he is on edge. The bloke has even lost his job over it.

Probably if they filmed themselves doing it, but the law has always used high profile cases to send a message.

You aren’t a public figure who has had threats sent at them. but its true it should be even across the board. The losing his job is because of them recording it and putting it online and not because the legal consequences.

if you made a fuss about something and got the media interested i am sure an employer would see that very seriously even if they didnt get prosecuted.

i would argue that harassment of people like this to a public figure who, to be fair, hasnt asked for his publicity, for doing his scientific and important job should be made an example of to stop others attempting the same.

@Scouse told you they wouldn’t need Chris to press charges. But you never know he may have been persuaded to change his mind after his initial feelings.

You don't necessarily have to press charges for them to charge someone, the CPS can decide, but really they should take the victim's wishes into consideration. I think Whitty has more important things to deal with than this shit.
