I have not and I am still not able to see my mum - I do not expect I will be allowed until next year depending on this new variant in the UK
Thats cause of rules the isle of man have put in right?

cause as a british citizen you are entitled to come back to the uk if you want / need to.

havent seen my mum for about A year also.

It is the rules on the IOM and I completely understand their rules and why they are in place... I believe that mainland UK would have done better if they had done the same.

Can apply but according to my sister not admitted unless on death bed or for a funeral. I’ll go as soon as I am not a danger to her :)

I do want to see my mum there are several practical points to consider the main one being :

Can someone who has travelled isolate in my home? (I would be staying at my mums)

Yes, someone who is travelling to the Isle of Man may stay in a household with people who have not travelled, so long as the traveller agrees to undergo testing for COVID-19. Members of the traveller’s household do have to self-isolate but they do not need to be tested.

Shared isolation is only allowed for travellers who have been in Guernsey, Jersey and the United Kingdom in the 14 days prior to travel.

There is also the risk that Sweden could move from Amber to Red at a moments notice for mainland UK which means I would be turned back at this point...

So the plan is that we wait a while longer until the isolation restriction is removed which will be some time dependent on the new variant in mainland UK. I will have my 2nd injection in 6 weeks currently the isle of man is lagging behind the mainlands vaccination programme - even at 6 weeks I will get my 2nd injection before my sister so it would be good if we wait until their vaccinations statistics improve and the under 40s are also completed.

In the ol dears words... there is no point in you coming here to sit 2 weeks in a hotel to come and visit for a few days just to travel back. Once the situation is clearer then I will go and be able to work from there for a while also (t would be nice is my husband is vaccinated also, so that he can come with me however his age group is not due for their first for at least 2 weeks given he current run rate)... If and when I do go I would like to see all my family also not just my mum :)...

I will see her for breakfast this morning as normal so we will all discuss further then

I had Pfizer. When i had Covid it was quiet bad, so was expecting worse tbh. Arms getting better during the day, can lift it a little now. Joints aren't so bad, but bangin headache.

Why have Scotland decided to do their vaccine programme differently than the UK .... ie without the use of a booking system? I have had reports that you get given an appointment that is near on impossible to change and if you can not attend for whatever reason then you are put back to the bottom of the list? Is this just ensuring everyone is offered a vaccine to meet a statistic? ie in Sweden they are measuring whether everyone has been offered a vaccine by x date (do not know what it is currently).

Because Scotland wait for England to announce what they are doing then do something different, regardless of how dumb it is, to appear indi.

You get a text with time slot, vaccine type, what you need to bring (PPS number) and address of the vaccine centre.
I just got a time and date in a letter.

The nurses didn't know what they were giving out until that morning - they'd had a tray of Pfizer the day I went but had been giving out AZ before then.

Same here, it was whatever they had on the day for the first jab, which was then matched for the second.

Don't be silly, she normally gets up a few hours before Johnson does to announce something ;)

As for vaccines you'll have what your given and like it....ah childhood memories of moaning about what you've been given for dinner :p

Hmm, strategy has changed as I have been asked to book my 2nd jab 4 weeks early unless they have a surplus.

No idea if it will be the same AZ or something different.
