We'll see where the BBC are in 5 years time after the Tories have decimated their cosy nationalised status they have festered in for years and this moment of throwing out their most successfull international program because some idiots had it in for a persona will be the turning point .
I watched last night and realised in two minutes how fucking awful Chris Evans will be with is 100% guaranteed female co presenter...it will just be the one show about cars with mind numbing interviews...invite a Hollywood star? Who the fucks this ging?

He physically attached a work colleague... I don't know where in that situation you can blame anyone else but Clarkson?

Does the man under the stairs give you your information? 100% guaranteed female presenter? What are you talking about?

1) Clarkson punched a man hard enough for him to require to go to hospital. Name a single corporate workplace where that doesn't result in instant dismissal followed by it being very hard for you to get a job again - because of your criminal record.

2) Chris Evans started out doing a chat show. I remember Madonna, who was hewuge at the time, refusing to go on Wogan as she'd only be interviewed by him. But at the end of the day - who gives a fuck - Top Gear, as you know and love - is dead. And that's Clarkson's fault entirely. Which is why he said "sorry" - and admitted his guilt.

2) So what if there's a woman involved in the new not-TopGear. Are you so old and sexist that you're threatened by it? It's going to be shit in your eyes anyway because it's not going to be fronted by Punchy Clarkson and tweedles dumb and dee. So why do you care?

I know you clearly have overtly homosexual feelings towards a violent man you've never met who is no longer going to be giving you something else to do than talk to your missus on a Sunday night. But you could try something else to fill the gap? Maybe do some volunteering?

Yeah well anyway..everyone knows the truth..not the pc reaction we now have to paint over the world.
Maybe because I'm old enough to know how the annoying humanity that was life up to late 90s was dealt with, using fairness instead of legality, it had its problems, but PC has caused far more problems than it has fixed, punching someone when I was working in my twenties resulted in a quick overview of what happened and people would shake hands if no lasting damage done..sounds ridiculous to people now, but it was all part of your standing in society...forgiving someone for an outburst was a notch on your character than gave you an unspoken respect, running to an injury lawyer was the mark of a scumbag..you would literally have to find a job elsewhere.
Open to abuse obviously, but have we fixed that...I don't know.
Baby out with the bath water to me.

I'm increasingly of the opinion that he did it deliberately...

Quite possibly. There's a fuckload of money to be made recreating one of the worlds biggest TV programs when you own the rights to it yourself.

Even if he got 1/10th of the worldwide viewing figures he'd be minting it in.

Seems the BBC is trying to stop Clarkson working for ITV until 2017, something about a clause in his contract preventing him from working for other networks until 2017, same with May and Hammond. Not sure how the BBC can even do that, surely if their contracts are over/not renewed, that clause cannot count in which case the BBC just has sour grapes and is clutching at straws?

I'm sure they are saying they cant work for a rival UK broadcaster, so that leaves ITV out of the race. Does Netflix come under that umbrella, can they be classed as a UK broadcaster, if not then there is the loophole

Sounds to me like they're trying to keep it off air so more people will tune in to Chris Evans, not really sure I get that logic really. People that WANT Clarkson and co won't tune in to Chris Evans, even if Clarkson and co aren't on air.

Arent those contact clauses completely unenforceable under EU law?

I would have thought they would have come under employment law where you cannot stop someone from working. Not sure though because a non-competition agreement might be enforceable as the new show would essentially be a product.

Such shit you talk, excusing bullying in the workplace. Clarkson is a fantastic broadcaster but he was on a final warning. Punching a colleague is going to get you sacked.

You have obviously been brought up surrounded by the modern PC, it's everyone's fault but mine and every tiny incident warrants an official investigation
I will tell you of the things that went on in my time in the 80's, 90's.
Two guys in my apprentice year got involved in a KNIFE fight, one got nicked by the blade, result
two month unpaid leave and taken into a room to apologise to each other, I wad put in a choke hold and passed out on the floor, result boss sent me home, guy was moved to another department.
Two guys on our floor had a fight and one got his arm broken...they shook hands and carried on working together, one lad was locked in a cupboard OVERNIGHT!
Apprentices were tied to chairs, stripped naked, tobasco sauce on your balls, head down the bog, one guy did a shit on the floor and was throwing it at his attackers, this was a major UK company...the world was a different place and a fat lip punch wouldn't have made in past your direct manager.
Jesus fuck, we had an alcholic working in a local exchange who setup a fucking shotgun range in the basement and people would go down, including managers to fire the guns, we had porn watching afternoons, strippers in the buildings, sneaked in by the guards.
The Wolf of Wall st was the norm in the 80s.

The two arnt mutually exclusive though. You can watch both things. Even if they are on at the same time.

Bit petty really.

I half expected there to be a sentence in the saying '...and we had none of them poofs and sambos about the place either'

There is a reason that kind of stuff doesn't happen today, its because its wrong, its nothing to do with being PC, its just out of order

Only because you are told it is, those were the days when you free to take your own chances, I have seen in my time the world turn from a wonderous playground with consequences to a strait jacketed litigation state.
They won't even let me jump in the boating lake by us in case I sue them if I hurt myself.

Sounds like your typical completely unproductive badly-managed shithole of a UK company. The irony is, you'd be the first to complain about the UK's lack of competitiveness when judged against foreign companies.

You don't half talk bollocks.

So you made up my thoughts as a hypocrisy against your views and someone agreed with it.

Where the fuck were you working, Dante's Inferno Ltd? I did an apprenticeship in the 80s and it wasn't anything like that. If we got caught fighting, sacked, end of story, and Health & Safety was a big thing even back then, employer's liability came in the late 70s.
