If it's really bad you will quit ! But the more people say to you "Quit or you'll die!" the more you want to do it. It makes you reliase that you enjoy it and don't wanna quit.

There isn't anyother way tbh, other than cutting down to like 2-5 aday.

I'm 18, been a smoker for 4yrs. Never had more than 10 aday and I don't smoke ciggerettes so tbh I don't see myself in alot of danger. I'll quit when I want to. Roll-ups with filters in ftw !

Another thing that i don't like about smokers, is, well kissing them . The taste it leaves in your mouth and the smell of their breath is pretty vile (no offence you smoker types).

Worse than that is at work (i work at the front desk in an opticians), people coming in straight after a fag, it's awful having to keep a smile when they stink of shit.

If you won't quit for yourselves, quit for your lovers \o/

Ye, went swimming this morning for about an hour. Then 'tried' to relax in the sauna. I'd most likely feel better if i wasn't out last night, but definatly swimming then sauna helps. I was caughing all sorts up.

Those pictures you posted tilda are foul but it's right, they used to do it in schools bring a good healthy lung in and a smokers foul black tarred up lung and pass the round the room. Not allowed to do it anymore afaik.

There's nothing clever abour smoking. Its a short life. You only got one body. I wanna spend as much time with my kids as I can. Now I've stopped, they'll have a dad for just that little bit longer.

Understandable, I've been smoking for quite a few years now, 5 or so. I havn't a clue why i started and every person who smokes wishes they never.

Wasn't whining but I do wish i never started (my own fault etc) I tried quitting and hardest time was in the morning and when i was out at the pub and after food. I'll quit eventually, like Lamp said gives that extra little time to enjoy life abit more.

My local pub is a smokers pub. Full of regulars, locals, villains, and plenty of coke-heads. There's little or no ventilation. I can't spend more than 30 mins in there now I've stopped. Its really quite unpleasant. Never noticed it before when I smoked. I hate to think what damage the passive smoking is doing.

Anyway, a woman who's a sister of one of the locals (28, single mum) brings her 3 year old daughter down there. She leaves her in per push-chair with the hood up, throws her coat over it, and carries on smoking and drinking while the baby sleeps. Its like the child's a problem and gets rid of the problem by tucking it away in a corner. Sometimes the poor thing is left in the pub for 6 hours while the mother yacks away, smoking endless fags, drinking, and snorting.

Words fail me. All of us. She was barred by the old landlord for doing that to her kid. The new one doesn't care.

Not sure what point I'm making. I guess if smoking is bad for adults, it must be even worse for a 3 year old. Needed to get off chest.

Yeah probably. Perhaps the best thing is to have a word with the publican and get him to stop her bringing the kid in. Not sure. We're concerned about the child. No one really likes the woman.

Ye i'd inform the landlord, but doubt it'd stop her from going into another smokers pub. Eventually somebody will get pissed off and feel sorry for the child and report her. It's a hard thing to do although for the interest of the child it's the best thing.

I have been involved in sports for most of my adult life and reached quite a high standard with regard to road running. There was a time though I 'relaxed' cos idiots in the pubs I visited always saw me as 'odd' cos I was a fitness fanatic. Split up from my regular girl at the time and decided to join this bunch of alcohol and fags brigade to see if I was missing anything. Ended up on dope and god knows wot. After a few months of this I was paranoid along with all the rest of the garbage that goes along with it. Sod it I decided I was missing bugger all and went back to running. My first run back was a real eye opener. All my fitness had evapourated and I was coughing up tons of phlegm. Tell you now that smoke does not belong in your lungs. I just had a scare about my lungs infact and it is more than a little unsettling. You are just mad to smoke. Infact you are stupid - silly - idiotic - a loser - wanker etc. Why fooking bother in the first place? Lung cancer is a quick way to the graveyard for sure. Ain't nothing funny you can say about it either.
