I don't have a credit card, I would be using a visa debit card. Plus, I need to be paid, in order to know how much I can spare. :)

New update just released :)

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/13861848/camelot-unchained/posts

Loving this part I must admit

Blueprints are also discoverable - found in the Depths and other places. Finally, blueprints have their own levels. If a high level architect makes a blueprint, it will have some additional bonuses to it such as increased durability, lower production cost, etc. While non-crafters can build certain structures (based on the rating of the structure) crafters will simply be much better at it than RvRers.

Really like how the crafters are being worked into the game, I really enjoy RvR but crafting so far is tempting me alot.

Edit: Also, ding $1,300,000 :)

It all sounds good the housing/building and other stuff, but most people dont care about that, they want to pwn naabs and burn there face off, they need some big combat updates to get those people to pledge. Just make a concept art of a Beserker going in Vendo mode thats slashing a TDD to crap with his 2 big axes. Thats already an insta 100k update.

They will release more updates :p 9 days left yet, they don't want to blow all of the updates at once.

They should contact some big Twitch streamers, if i remember Kripp played Dark Age of Camelot, he also got people to watch Path of Exile, also Reckfull has a big stream and does only PvP, maybe he could promote the game also abit if they gave him free internal testing or something.

Meh, problem with asking Twitch streamers to do anything is they have nothing to show fans/followers, bit of a stretch between showing them some gameplay and saying "This game will rock, please buy/donate to it" especially to people who haven't played DAOC before and have no idea who the team is.

With Blizzard/Diablo III it was easy for Athene/Kripp/Kungen to promote it because everyone knows who Blizzard is and what they have done in the past :) if you say to the average gamer today "Do you know who CSE is? or who Mark Jacobs is? or what DAOC is?" answer will likely be no to every question.

Hello Naffets :p

On topic: the newer announcement for the cliff top houses are selling like hotcakes, since they were announced a few hours ago or so its already raked in almost $20,000 from that update alone.

Depending on how much my wife reems me when she goes shopping with her mum at the weekend, I will be donating $50-$100 before it runs out!

Saw the update about the new $2500 limited tier, good idea. Could do with a few new ones for the lower tiers. A limited $60 tier, $130 tier and $200 could potentially get around 5000 pledgers to up their bid.

Indeed, i'm sure they know this and hopefully we'll see something in the next few days.

I think they need to create alternatives for the full tiers like the 1k one if they want to reach the target.

Here are some reasons you should at least check out Camelot Unchained. CSE have some extremely interesting ideas for what an MMORPG should be in the future and even if it doesn't fund I think you will see developers attempt to implement some of their ideas. They are self-publishing and are going to self-fund a large percentage of the game. I think these guys deserve some hype!
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/13861848/camelot-unchained

Tri-Realm RvR Only. Instead of being everything for everyone CSE is focusing on just the gamers that want the thrill of matching their wits against another human being. Team focused PvP will be the only way to progress. No 10 rats to kill or FedEx quests. A world with no creatures or NPCs though would be pretty boring so there will still be monsters and guards. And some of those monsters will need to be killed for crafting materials. So PvE will still be in the game, just not in the traditional Quest/Leveling sense. Beyond the three starting cities (one for each realm) all lands are contested.
http://camelotunchained.com/en/foundational-principle-2-rvr-isnt-the-end-game-its-the-only-game/

Crafter Class. CU will elevate the crafter from meer item generator to one of the main focuses of the game by actually having a crafting only class. All gear in the world will be player crafted (no loot drops) and customizable. Part engineer, part crafter - building traps for the enemy and constructing defenses on the battlefield. Crafters will also rebuild the world using Camelot Unchained's revolutionary Building System. http://camelotunchained.com/en/foundational-principle-7/

Building System. Part Minecraft, part Lego, Camelot Unchained will employ the use of 'cells' as the building blocks of the world. This will allow for true free-form building or you can use prefabs to speed up the process. Buildings will take time to build and will also take time to destroy. All buildings constructed in contested lands can be destroyed, deconstructed, or captured by the enemy. Rebuilding won't be as painful however because CU will allow blueprints to be created once buildings are finished.

Part 2: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/13861848/camelot-unchained/posts/461225

Importance of Housing. Camelot Unchained is a post-apocalyptic world and needs to be rebuilt. Through the use of the Building System, players will be able to literally build entire towns, wall them off, and dwell in them for as long as the enemy permits. Use a blueprint or prefabs to quickly erect your house or go for complete customization using cells. How close to the enemy realm are you willing to build? Building in RvR zones means crafters in RvR zones - anyone up for a game of hunt the lonely crafter?

The Depths. Dark Age of Camelot blew up the MMORPG scene with it's unique RvR focused dungeon, Darkness Falls. Camelot Unchained will see it's spiritual successor in The Depths. A single labyrinth/dungeon zone with legendary forges, points of power, and exotic resources. Amazing new gameplay concepts like tower defense style elements, remote viewing through medieval 'cameras', player controlled NPC monsters and bosses, all contained within a 'living' Giger'esk dungeon.

Jumped 50k yesterday, good sign but still looking gloomy to me. New pledge tiers were a good plan regardless.

Despite my own feeling that I need to be level-headed about my expectations for this game, I really hope the $110 I pledged does end up getting taken and put towards making the kind of game so many of us have been waiting for. :(

Anyone else a little bit skeptical about the crafter class?

(I'll probably get shot down straight away here...)

I mean, if it's anything like a traditional MMO, the crafter will defend keeps with siege weaponry and such, but for open battles and stuff, get the siege weapons down and die (You don't exactly see siege weaponry used for a lengthy amount of time in most MMOs)

It would be cool to see the crafter making like heal tents and stuff where if you're in a zerg fight, your team can fall back to it and heal up, stealth & traps would also be cool..

Basically, I just don't want to see a crafter class someone who sits in a tower defending it or in front of a tower attacking it...

I think potentially unless you have a massive hardcore guild where there's a couple of odd balls, it'll be hard to convince someone to roll one. IMO.

I'll make an alt one for sure but I agree, it might be extremely niche to have one as a main.

Yeah, indeed, just strikes me as the ultimate alt class.
