Bored..

Im quite bored of this game right now. After all its just about LEVELing and Capturing keeps. What's the purpose? I'm quite confused when people yells "Why didnt you come to defend the keep! - Now we lost it!!" .. SO WHAT? What does that matter? There's no any higher purpose in capturing keeps or relics. Oh yes, Darkness Falls opens, but when you hit 50 what does that matter?

DAOC gets good at 50, no more XP, just RvR and raids.

DF is brillinat at 50. You can go on/organise sight-seeing tours.

Purpose of capturing keeps: getting RP bonus in RvR. Also to help protect the relic keeps and stop other realms geting attack bonuses in PvE and RvR. Plus Lurikeen Lords rock!

Well thats exactly what I mean . It's just running after RP's and exp. Some kind of bigger purpose is lost. Events are welcome imo, its something different for usual. Well .. I stop whining as my english isnt that good anyway . Lock this thread. I've said all I had in my heart

Exactly.
And if GOA dont provide us with them 24/7 (which they dont) arrange your own player run events, with the aid of GOA to spice them up some.
It has been done before and can be done again.

It would ofcourse mean you have to bring out the roleplayer in you, but that aint so hard

That sort of mentality can carry over to whatever game you can think of... for example what is the point in Unreal Tournament all you do is go around fragging people or possibly captuing a flag.... what is the point what good does that do?

Any game is and always will be what you make of it. Personally i think this is a good game as you get to have a laugh and get to know great people.

I played Ultima Online for 2 years non stop. Ive played DAoC for 5 months and i needed a break from it already. Strange eh ??!!?... And i'm not putting daoc up against Uo. I still have my UO account. I will give SWG a try out too. I even stop playing a lvl48 Blademaster because i was so bored of xp'ing and rvr, But now ive had my break and Bone will be back full time xp'ing and rvr'ing again from monday next week. If i get bored again pretty quick you will be seeing much much less of me.

when i was back in my depressed days , i allways said "the game ends at 50" and it's so true.

"primetime" playing after 50 = teh s00k

go see emain, the wondrous hib zerg and the ymca squad will give you a warm welcome

everything else is dead and you have no reason to go kill mobs for.

Now people think I'm the great fan of FPS, great . I'm not saying DAoC isn't good. Im just bored of it as it doesnt serve as much as I'd like to. Many game dont. I know that my attitude is like this, bevause of "pen'n'paper"-RPGs. There's no such freedom in DAoC, and I understand there will never be in any game. But still, there could be some kind of bigger event that could touch every realm or so which would give some deepness for the game. Those player arranged events sounds nice, and maybe I some day try to manage one, who knows.. I really like roleplaying in DAoC, and thanks to all in Order of the Knight Templar, they're very nice ppl and many of them (all?) are usually IN character. I've met a lot of nice people in DAoC and even that makes the game worth playing. Other side of this is also in game, of course.
I mean those "FFS, m8, plz, soz, l337"-guys. But everyone plays as they wish..

.. As Im bored of DAoC nowadays more than before, it doesnt mean that I wouldnt log in almost every day - thanks for that goes to the nice people in Albion .

And of course I need to know is there still life after lvl 50.

getting to 50 basically completes the game coz thats the main objective but you can just stick around and do all the things you wanted to or leave just like any other game you play.

also why dont you take up roleplaying and join a roleplaying guild, thinking of a back ground etc that might keep you entertained for a while

Thats a good example of a power leveler, exp exp and more exp to hit 50 asap, and then... Try to enjoy the game, rp can be fun, even quests or events can be fun, interacting with other players can be fun, raids can be fun even crafting can be fun, and if you dont like this, then this is not the game for you...
