Not quite - the music throughout an entire film is the score. The released soundtrack is entirelt subjective; one chord is enough to feature it should they wish.
Pulp fiction, Donnie Darko, Young guns II, Gladiator, Predator, Requiem for a dream, The matrix, Braveheart are other great soundtracks... but The rock is in a league above the rest.

tarantino films usually have awesome soundtracks. then theres some musical movies which have awesome soundtracks if you like the music (walk the line, cadillac records would be my examples of great cover-for-movie soundtracks). but o brother where art thou is a MASTERPIECE and has to be the best.
