Intellimouse explorer is shiet, the standard optical intellimouse is nice. Razors.. .lol fuck it mate, expense for nothing, they are nothing special whatsoever, i would choose my 5 pound Genius mouse over one. I use a Logitech Mouseman Wheel, with large rubberised sized and a thumb button.. very nice movement, accurate tracking, GREAT for games. However I do have large hands (ooer missus) so it suits me great.. you may prefer different mice really. Logitech are the people to buy from for most input devices (mice, steering wheels, joysticks etc, keyboards)
Theres not much difference really, the razer mice are WAY too overpriced for very little extra, if anything.
Up to you really, just dont go for any cheap mice with all these extra gadgets like 2 scroll wheels etc.

I use an MS intellimouse explorer ...

i use 4 out of the 5 buttons, as well as the wheel ..

I find it to be VERY accurate, and has a nice sliding motion to it ...
DEFFINATLY worth 40 quid ...

plus its got a nice red light on it !! lol )

isnt this the mouse that is wireless and calculates the movement via sensors?
if so it runs at a certain refresh rate and cannot read ahead far enough of itself for gaming surely?
or have i got the wrong thing yet again??
:D

The MS itellimouse (the RED eye) is very good. I spent 4 years with my 2 button ms ball mouse and after I was killed in a game for the 1000th time because of the dreaded mouse fluff I check out other mice :)

It seems the red eye is a mouse you either love or hate. When I first got it I had trouble adapting, but not it is amazing and I would never go back to a ball mouse :).

I have both the Intellimouse Explorer and the Boomslang 2000.

The Boomslang is undoubtedly the more responsive of the two but it takes so long to get used to it.

The Intellimouse is just fine for me. It does have a tendancy to cause my player to look straight up or down when turning fast, but it's great when used sans mousemat.

lo ;)

ive got 2 of them optical mouses :/
first there is the Intellimouse Explorer - big and silver and is absolutely hopeless at tracking! :(

then theres the bottom of the range Intellimouse with Intellieye - this mouse stands way high over the above one. Tracks brilliantly, i wouldnt be without it :)

the moral of the above is dont be swayed by the looks of the explorer, its pants :p, just get the cheaper one and u wont be sorry ;)

rockhard :D

sos ive goto disagree with a few of u here (for a change :))

the big silver ms explorer mouse (with the red flashy bit) is a great gaming mouse - when u get used to it (feals bit big at first) it is very comfortable to use, it fits your (well mine anyway :)) hand perfectly and the only time u have tracking probs is when u wiggle the mouse arround like mad.

+if a bulb goes at night u can use it as an improptue torch ! :)

out of interest i DID think about getting a razor one, but i only managed to find 1 person that actually uses it and prefers it over a normal mouse . . . . . . . .

Horses for courses, isn't it...

Personally I've got an Intellimouse Pro (like an Intelli, but a bit bigger and 'steeper'). I bought an Intelli Explorer (the big silver optical one), and absolutely hated it, gave it away, but some people love them. Replaced it with a Logitech Mouseman+, which I loved except for one thing, the wheel was horrible to use. I find Intellimouses (standard) too small, but then when Exor tried my Intellimouse Pro, he found it too big.

All depends really. I wouldn't spend the ludicrous amount of money on a Razer, coz I don't take Q2 serious enough to warrant it. Try a Logi if you don't like your MS, most people like one or the other.

I've tried a Boomslang and an optical one, and imo, they're vastly overrated.

The Boomslang tracks really nice, and is accurate, but for me I just couldn't get used to the shape no matter how long I tried..if they do the same mouse with new shape I think it would be perfect.

The IntelliMouse Explorer has a tracking speed limit, which is why it doesn't work for me...move it too fast and it points you at the ceiling as someone mentioned and that is the most annoying thing in hell mid game.

I used to have a IntelliMouse Pro...felt really nice, but I couldn't get another one near me, so ended up going for a standard Logitech wheel mouse, and tbh it's def as good as any other mouse I've tried.

After trying all these mice, all I can say is I reckon they're all vastly overrated and overpriced, and now prefer the Logitechs.
